The finance team works closely with the brands for planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, modelling and reporting of the USD 500 million Casual Dining business. We also play an active role in reviewing and enhancing business processes driven by use of technology.
Financial Management - Budgeting, Reporting and Control
• Analyse historic performance & prepare financial models to support brands in developing annual budgets
• Prepare Monthly Financial Review Report and analyse actual performance against budget
• Prepare standard and customised financial reports to review store profitability (160+ stores)
• Liaise with brand teams to investigate adverse performance and present findings to senior management
Inventory Management
• Prepare Inventory budgets and monthly reforecasting (Average Inventory holding of USD 8.5 million)
• Supported implementation of new inventory management system that resulted in enhanced visibility and ability to track inventory across stores, distribution centres and 3rd party warehouses
Cost Saving Initiatives
• Spearheading supply chain cost saving initiative - tracking price trends for 5000+ SKU across 15 brands in 8 markets; timely identifications and corrective actions have resulted in savings of more than USD 4.5 million (3% of total food costs) last year
• Undertook project on staff leave planning and tracking to optimize accruals and reduce overall staff cost
• Developed dashboard for tracking of operational KPI’s to benchmark across brands and optimise spending
The Client Financial Management (CFM) function fulfils a Chief Financial Officer role on a project basis, responsible to drive optimal decision making in pursuit of profit maximization within a commercial framework. I worked on an outsourcing project for a diamond client in the mining & petroleum sector with revenue amounting to USD 2.8 million.
