I am Research analyst in the Supervision and Oversight Department. It includes:
• Supervision of non-banking financial institutions.
• Offsite inspection including analyzing monthly financial position & related analytical statements
• Monitoring compliance with risk ceilings and supervisory ratios
• Follow-up of the treatment of ceiling exceedings and supervisory ratios and of the treatment of non-moderate risks.
• Onsite inspection including assessing the qualitative risks in accordance with the assessment indicators of each type of financial services institutions
• Thorough study of investment funds’ applications submitted to the central bank prior to approving licensing
• Handling communications with financial institutions
I joined the Global Investment Research department which primarily looked at financial institutions in MENA, providing investment recommendations to our clients.
Work involved monitoring fundamental trends in the banking sector, interpreting financial statements, analyzing macroeconomic variables including national statistics and incorporating all relevant data in our proprietary earnings and valuation models under the close supervision of senior analysts.
Worked under the supervision of Dr. Abdel Nasser Abdalla for the Managerial and Cost Accounting courses. Was responsible of tutoring students, preparing presentations and grading exams.
Worked in the Assurance Services department in a six-week internship.
