I joined as Assistant Professor and was promoted to Associate Professor. I am supposed to perform the following set of responsibilities as my main duties.
1. Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the university by developing and presenting lectures and/or academic materials to students and facilitating laboratory sessions or discussion groups.
2. Preparing and evaluating assessments such as examinations, laboratory assignments, and course project reports and assisting students with their coursework and research activities by providing concrete feedback and guidance.
3. Providing counseling sessions to students on academic-related matters and facilitating their career choices.
4. Attending and participating in meetings, conferences and events in and outside of the institution to network, present your work and learn from others and organizing reference materials, visual aids, conducting seminars and laboratory sessions for the students.
5. Collaborating with other academics and professionals to enhance pedagogical approaches and expand the knowledge base.
6. Course Coordinator/Module Leader for Human-Computer Interaction, Systems Analysis and Design, Multimedia Technologies, Computer Graphics, Technical Writing, Quantitative Analysis, Advanced Probability, and Statistics to make decisions on any kind of course-related issues.
7. Existing course Coordinator for undergraduate course CPIT250-Systems Analysis and Design and postgraduate courses CS-602 Advanced Computer Graphics and a Ph.D. course CPIT701-Advanced Probability and Statistics.
8. Preparing Articulation Matrices as being course coordinator including course contents, recommended/reference books, grade distributions, mapping of course learning outcomes (CLOs) to student outcomes (SOs), In-class and out-class activities, course assessment, and evaluation methods.
9. Writing End-of Semester or Course Reports as course coordinator incorporating all other course instructors’ reports indicating the reasoning for under-achieved results and recommending corresponding Improvement Statements, for all the assigned undergraduate and graduate courses to perform ‘Closing the loop’ at the end of each term.
10. Serving on Departmental committees dealing with accreditation planning and requirements, curriculum planning and degree requirements, and performing a variety of other administrative tasks.
11. Member/Head of ABET committee for the BSIT Program at the Department and accomplished writing giant document Self-Study Report for ABET accreditation of BSIT Program.
12. Member of MSIT Program accreditation committee, writing SSRP Self-Study Report for NCAAA, particularly focusing on Program’s Standards ‘Mission and Goals’ and ‘Program Management and Quality Assurance’.
13. Member of the committee for the formation of the Cybersecurity Department in the Faculty of Computing and IT. Designed a complete list of program specifications for BS in Cybersecurity, identifying the program’s Mission, Objectives, and Learning Outcomes, Defined curriculum structure and program courses, including the identification of program resources and a procedure for the establishment of a program’s quality assurance.
14. Member/Head of Senior Year Project Coordination Committee being responsible as Project Advisor and guiding students to execute complete planning of final year projects. Also involved in teaching general guidelines for final projects to senior year project students as a course.
15. Reviewer for internal MS/Ph.D. proposals/thesis and several national/international journals/conferences.
16. Conducting independent research in fields of Human-Computer Interaction, Multimedia and Artificial intelligence, EEG, and BCI and publishing findings in scholarly journals, conferences, and/or books.
17. Conduct literature reviews, surveys, and laboratory experiments, and compile research results for use in scholarly publications.
