The project is for an indoor sky diving and rock climbing facility at Yas Island, intended to complement existing leisure projects in the island. My role as a project manager is to manage all aspects of project delivery throughout the project lifecycle. Particular areas of focus:
• Managing design and supervision consultancy contracts, ensuring deliverables are met.
• Diligent review of responses from designers and vendors with claim prevention in mind.
• Prompting value engineering items, devising and implementing controlled change strategy.
• Close coordination with ride vendors at the technical level, ensuring that issues are averted in a timely manner.
• Close coordination with operator, ensuring that their requirements are fed into the project at the right time.
• Managing Contractors deliverables, acting as FIDIC Engineer.
• Long term planning of local authorities approvals to ensure that such approvals are secured on time.
• Alerting Client of project risks and mitigations, ensuring that timely decisions are made to avoid abortive costs and prevent claims.
• Early identification of issues affecting testing and commissioning
• Rigorous day to day tracking of progress against plan, assuming the responsibility to resolve technical, commercial and contractual issues.
• Early planning of project closeout activities to ensuring efficient utilization of resources towards completion.

Responsibilities
• Review and comment on Mechanical Submittals; comprising of Material Submittals and Shop drawings for all mechanical systems including air conditioning, fire fighting, ventilation, water supply, drainage and storm water systems.
• Supervising Provisional Sum Tender for Kitchen Equipment; including preparation of tender Documents and Bid Analysis Reports.

Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) Headquarters is one of the most prestigious projects in Abu Dhabi, a twin tower (200m high) and car park building with 95, 000 square meters. Designed by KPF and Buro Happold.
Responsibilities
* Coordination with the designer (Buro Happold) on all design issues such as RFI's and authorities special requirements.
* Responsible for mechanical installation inspections, for all mechanical systems as well as materials and equipment delivered to site.
* Shop Drawings review, verification of conformance with design drawings and specification requirements, as well as site conditions.
* Coordination with local authorities (Civil Defense, ADWEA, Town Planning, SPC, ADDC and all Utilities Providers' Consultants)
* Monthly Payment verification on mechanical items progressed.
* Responsibilities also included generating analysis reports to Extension of Time claims.
ADIA New Warehouse Storage Facility (2003)

• The Warehouse facility project is a 6, 000 square meters building intended to function as a backup center for ADIA. The contract is a design-build job where my responsibility as Mechanical Engineer in charge is to supervise the design and construction of mechanical systems for the facility, and verification of systems requirements versus the required function, maintainability and quality. Installation inspections, materials and equipment inspections. Design Drawings and calculations and Shop Drawings review, material and equipment submittals review.
Celebration Halls in Al Ain Region (2002-2003)

• My responsibilities included document control, submittal reviews, site inspections, and daily project management follow ups as well as business correspondence. Celebration Halls in Al Ain Region Project, constructed in (8) remote sites where my involvement started since the early design stages. Activities included design and specification review, Tenders Evaluation through the award stage. Followed by the construction stage full participation as a Mechanical Support Engineer.
