• T&C of Metro COM subsystems
• Overseeing and actively managing the design and implementation of a surveillance network that includes CCTV and IDS as well as a central smart Video Management System with VCA capabilities and Distributed Storage architecture for an improved bandwidth and overall system performance.
• In-charge for the Installation, Test and Commissioning activities of train communication system, PSD, Access Control, CCTV, Fiber optical Networking, Passenger Information and PAGA Alarm system.
• Setup of Enterprise data center for Central Control Authority of Orange Line Metro Operations including Electro-Mechanical services and ICT infrastructure from Hardware installation to Networking, Servers Setup and Software Optimization.
• Worked on pre-staging and assembling of ICT systems for on-site installation. Responsible for delivery of systems as per ICT drawings. Setting up cabling, mounting and storage on ICT racks, Fiber Optics and Communications cabling, ensuring proper connection and device terminations as pre-requisite for T&C.
• Installation of rack units, power supplies and Ethernet switches as a part of Service delivery as well as installation of on-site system and services according to the Civil works schedule and progress.
• Project Management of the overall software system setup (VMS Server and Storage, IP based Comm Architecture) and commissioning starting from Design till the commissioning of Overall Security systems that included CCTV and VMS including client-side training.
• Worked as Installation, Testing and Commissioning Engineer on Central Operations Control Centre (OCC), Data Center, CCTV Control rooms, Optical and Wireless Networking. Worked on equipment from Various vendors including SMA, Cisco, GE, SIEMENS, HUAWEI, Pelco, Advantech, MOXA and CR-NORINCO (Prop).
• In-Building Radio Network Implementation for Wireless including Public Cell Phone coverage using DAS for GSM, CDMA and TETRA
• Expert working knowledge of SCADA Automation Standards and Train control using CBTC with protocols like IEC 62290-1, (also 62425, 62267 for safety) and automation protocols like IEC 60870-5-101 and IEC 60870-5-4 etc.
• Installation, PICO and Testing & Commissioning for PAS (Broadcast), PIS (WLAN & Ethernet based), MSN (Multi-Service Network over IP). Responsible for setup and delivery of switched LAN & MPLS network, Intrastation communication network, Radio Communication Systems (GSM, 4G LTE, TETRA), Clock System, Video & Audio Recording System (VARS), MOXA core Switches and Power supplies, Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system, Public Wireless Communication System (RF IBS, WLAN), PTZ CCTV Cameras (Pelco, Arecont, CHN), Access Control (CMOLO), Data Servers (Dell, IBM).
• In-charge of all communications systems installation, powering and commissioning in the Operational Control Centre, Central Depot, Visual Control & Monitoring Centre, CCTV control and surveillance Centre.
• Expert in Serial Communication, Modbus, Profibus, RS 232, RS 422, RS 485, TCP/IP, DHCP, MPLS, VPN, Cloud and Virtualization (Hyper-V VMs, VMWare). Expert on wireless communication including GSM, 3G, LTE, WLAN, TETRA industrial Wireless solutions for RAIL and Transportation Industry.
• Preparing important instructional documents and reviewing contractor’s designs, method statements and installation guidelines to ensure services are installed according to specified standards and jobs are executed as per HSE policy and best practices.
• Coordination with relevant Civil Contractors to ensure service delivery in the concerned area as per installation time-frames and commissioning the system to make it operational with the central control center.
• Acting as design authority to ensure optimal service standards in case of desired deviations in standard engineering design and liaising with design teams to ensure changes are reflected in each and every scenario, for an efficient working system.
• Responsible for complete DATA NETWORK setup, installation and T&C of Core switches, routers.
• Worked as T&C lead on renowned vendor equipment including MOXA USA, METONE USA, THERMO USA, ESA FRANCE, DURAG Germany etc.
• Worked as a Senior lead for Installation quality management and System Engineering Design for AQMS system, ICT system and monitoring system.
• Set up CCTV at remote sites for remote monitoring of equipment and data validation.
• Setup of Central Security Server for Video Monitoring and Management with VCA capabilities and configuration.
• Setup of remote access, Access control system at Data Centre and remote sites for controlled access to sensitive information and equipment.
• Worked as main focal point for customer interaction in remote stations’ connectivity (WAN) with the ADNOC Central HQ (MPLS Network).
• Worked with MOXA industrial equipment, Power Supplies, Industrial PCs, Embedded Advantech system electronics including A2D converters, MUX and RTUs.
· Technical Expert on Installation Supervision, Pre-Commissioning, FAT, SAT, Commissioning and Delivery.
· Configuration management of Cisco VPN clients incorporating IPSec and PPTP tunneling for dedicated and secure access of remote stations in distant locations like DAS Island, Mubarraz Island, Sas Al Nakhl Island, Zirco Island and other offshore sites.
· Customer training on operations, maintenance, fault tracing and analysis, redundancy, system operational flow and preventive / corrective maintenance during operational life-cycle of the AQMS/CEMS system.
· Expert working knowledge of Modbus, OPC, NetDDE and serial communications protocols (RS232, 422, 485 etc).
· VPN, SCADA and DCS connectivity expert for all projects and scenarios similar to those in Airlines, Rail and Metro networks.
· Worked as sub-contractor’s Engineer on Dubai Metro project for installation management of Infrastructure for Security systems, ELV/ICT Cabling, Telecom devices, TETRA Radio system, GSM and IBS coverage. Commissioning of WLAN/WAN network over copper and Fiber.
· Worked as Installation lead on Fiber optical network, ISP & OSP.
· Responsible for T&C and configuration of Access network equipment including ONTs, Switches and Routers (Ethernet LAN, WAN & WLAN).
· End to End testing of Ethernet links (Fluke), Fiber links (OTDR) for optimized LAN & WAN communication.
· Customer training on operations, maintenance, fault tracing and analysis, redundancy, system operational flow and preventive / corrective maintenance during operational life-cycle of the Metro Communications/ CBTC / Telco / ELV system.
· Installation Management of Dubai Metro service nodes covering Access gates, CCTV, PAS, PIS, Video and Audio Recording System, Video Content Analytics software and Video Management Systems, Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system, SCADA interface and software Implementation.
· Pre-Commissioning and Site Acceptance (SAT) of Network systems, Switched networks, CCTV, Access Control, Public Address System, Passenger Information System, Central Supervisory Control and Video Conferencing system.
