Clinical Informatics Specialist:
Managing the installation of medical application servers dealing with SQL databases and end user medical solution.
Implementation consultant and technical support:
- Providing all kinds of support and training operations relating to software (Cardiac, Clinical, pharmaceutical and Hospital management), hardware and Networking to almost about 3000 users.
- Implement and support HIS (Hospital Information system).
- Implement and Support CIS (Clinical Information system).
- Implement and Support LIS (Lab Information system).
- Support Cardiac Management Software (Cardio report and Alert), Salman Al-Dabbous Cardiac Center, Dental Center.
Principal duties:
- Utilize knowledge and skills of clinical practice at Kuwait Dabbous Cardiac Center (DCC) and Kuwait Urology Center (KUC) to determine clinical and pharmaceutical functions that are suitable for computer application and ensure information systems are consistent with professional standards of clinical practice.
- Full implementation of Alert® system and Sapphire system capabilities at Dabbous Cardiac Center, Adan Hospital center for internal medicine, all Adan Pharmacies (with Dr. Hussain Al-Anezi “Head of Pharmaceuticals”) , and Kuwait Urology Center including pre-implementation setup and installation, training and orientation of physicians and staff.
Research and teaching - Supervise and teach technicians, PhD, MSc and undergraduate students of Biomedical Science. Participate in evaluation juries and mark B.Sc essays and final project dissertations. Plan and run cancer biology seminars for final year undergraduates, give lectures for undergraduates taking courses on advanced Cell Signaling.
Communication / presentation: present to small and large groups, at home or abroad, adapting style and content to the level of knowledge and understanding of others. Animate open-days for lay people suffering from, or interested in, cancer. Write scientific articles in international peer-reviewed journals. Write funding application.
Interpersonal - Coach and collaborate with professional scientists as well as scientific companies such as Sigma and Qiagen. Participate in the design and development of new experimental arrays used for genetic screening of Canine DNA. - Elected representative for the BIG C charity and host regular visits for charity runners, sponsors and local cancer patients.
Management and organization - Attend several courses of management, part of the university’s personal and professional development program. Manage and report new University safety procedures (SOPs') for new experimental protocols, including mycoplasma testing, barrier permeability assays and genetic cloning - Organize meetings (e.g. Cell protease group seminars, laboratory health and safety laws) for the entire biomedical center. Help organize the 13th Plasminogen activation international conference held at the University of Cambridge, UK 2011 which invited speakers of high caliber including Dr. Ermanno Gherardi the founder of HGF.
Worked within a team to encourage customers (corporate or individuals) to buy a wide range of developed Antibodies from Abcam in order to meet a sales target. Trained on sales and customer approaching techniques, schedule and attend client sales calls daily with potential and current customers, preparing formal presentations, and ensuring customers are aware of full range of company's products and services. Develop mutually beneficial partnerships with physicians, pharmacists, hospital staff, peers, and management. Perform in-service presentations to different research and lab facilities such as the John Innes Center, Norwich’s biomedical research institute and NNUH. Follow-up with clients to maintain connection and trust, ensuring satisfaction with services provided and promote a positive company image. Track product sales and research competitor pricing.
Research the effect of induced mutations on fruit valve development in model plant, Arabidopsis Thaliana. Manage green houses, keeping record of harvests and data collection. Trained new assistant staff members.
Volunteer at the Jack Pryer renal unit and assisted nurses in preparing for patients treatments; review details on specific patient profiles and assisted in gathering treatment materials. Communicate with patients and provide assistance on regular bases.
