Posted as a reservoir engineer at the ONGC-Schlumberger Joint Research Centre in New Delhi. Carried out studies on production enhancement, oil and gas field management, reservoir characterization and formation analysis. Currently working in a multi-disciplinary team on reservoir simulation of an offshore oilfield.
Worked and submitted project reports on:
∑ Identification of source of water in high water cut wells of an offshore oilfield.
∑ Integrated reservoir characterization and reservoir simulation of a complex carbonate reservoir
∑ Horizontal well planning in an unconsolidated heavy oil sand
∑ Production improvement in a low permeability sandstone reservoir
∑ Performance evaluation of oxygen activation log (WFL) in Bombay offshore area
∑ Formation evaluation of an offshore exploratory structure
Posted as a well log analyst and petrophysicist at ONGC’s giant Bombay High offshore oilfield. Responsibilities included:
∑ Processing and interpretation of open hole and cased hole logs
∑ Identification of hydrocarbon bearing formations
∑ Determination of fluid contacts in reservoir (GOC, OWC)
∑ Determination of optimum perforation policy
∑ Production log interpretation and identification of sick zones (gas/water breakthrough, channeling, coning)
∑ Recommendations for well workover plans
∑ Wellbore pressure studies (in association with reservoir engineering department)
Appointed as well logging field engineer on 2/4/1985. Operated digital well-logging units under time constraints and difficult field conditions at well locations all over Western India. Carried out all major open-hole log suites including dipmeter and formation tester.
Combined program of the Dept. of Petroleum Engineering and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, which included all core courses of the Stanford MBA program. Submitted an engineering-economic thesis entitled "Techno-Economic and Risk Analysis of a Thermal Recovery Project", utilizing Monte-Carlo simulation.
Advanced oil and gas reservoir engineering, well test analysis, EOR techniques, mathematics and computer programming. Submitted a Master's report entitled "Computer Modeling of a Three-Dimensional Steam Injection Experiment", utilizing a compositional thermal reservoir simulator.
