• Responsible for Bid & Program Management for the FICV Program (Futuristic Infantry Combat vehicle), the biggest land defence Program in India (Value approx 10 Billion USD) floated by MOD, Govt of India. The Program will be executed with support from Technology providers from Sweden, UK & Israel. Mahindra & Mahindra is one of the bidders of this program.
• Prepared Project Management Plan (PMP), Program Integrated Schedule, Risk & Opportunity Management Plan, TOT Plan & Indigenous Manufacturing road map for the FICV Program. Managed preparation of System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) & other Engineering artefacts for the Program including addressing LCM review requirements.
• Responsible for Bid & Program Management for other upcoming Programs with MOD, India i.e. Light Armoured Multi Role Vehicle (LAMV) Program, Wheeled Armoured Platform Vehicle (WHAP) Program & BCP (Battery Control Post) Program
• Program Management; Project Monitoring & Control & Customer Management for TATA World Truck (TATA Prima) Project. TATA Prima Truck was launched by TATA Motors in the Indian Market in May’ 09.
• Managed the total turnkey supply of Truck Cab welding Line (with 60% Automation) for the World Truck Prima model which also included integration & commissioning in Jamshedpur. The turnkey scope in addition to the detailed engineering & Design for the Cab Weld shop was inclusive of supply of all Equipment for the line i.e. Robots, Weld fixtures, Weld stations & other ancillary equipment e.g. material transfer systems, checking fixtures etc. The Project was executed through ABB facilities in India, France, China & Sweden. The total order value on ABB was 900 Million INR.
• Handled Operations for ABB Robotics Business in India encompassing Program Management, Site Management, Technical & Engineering services for Programs; Ford Figo, VW Polo, TATA Motors Nano & M&M Xylo
• Program Management, Project Monitoring & Control for 4WH LCV Program. This vehicle was scheduled to be launched in the Indian market in 2010.
Co-ordinated Simultaneous engineering activity, Prototype manufacturing activity & Planning and Budgeting activities related to Press Lines, Stamping Dies & Cab welding line. Details as under;
• Simultaneous Engineering activity was executed with support from EDAG - Germany with Product Design support from EDI - Italy. DFM (Design for Manufacturing), DFA (Design for Assembly) for Cab Body, Process Planning, Assembly sequence planning, Line Balancing for Weld shop & Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T) studies were completed as per Schedule & Budgets.
• Proto Cab manufacturing activity was executed with support from GENIX Ltd - Korea. Prototype Cab planning & adherence to committed delivery schedule was ensured. Prototype cab inspection & buyoff was achieved as per schedule & Budgets.
• Planning for Press lines & Stamping Dies: Formulated specifications & RFQ for Press Lines & Stamping Dies. Handled Budget planning, Supplier Identification & assessment including short listing of suppliers (Indian & Global) for Press lines & Stamping Dies.
• Planning for BIW weld shop & fixtures: Formulated specifications & RFQ for weld fixtures & equipment. Handled Budget planning, Supplier identification & assessment including short listing of suppliers (Indian & Global) for weld line fixtures & Equipment.
Project Management:
• Prepared Project schedule & Budget plans for executing Projects in Cab weld assembly and Vehicle general assembly Product Units.
• Monitored Projects with respect to cost, schedule, resources & quality including Supplier Management to ensure execution of Projects as per plans.
Process Engineering:
• Coordinated tool design activities, process planning and equipment planning activities including drawing up RFQs for tools & equipment.
• Analyzed various processes / applications and recommended process modifications to enhance operational efficiency.
Technical Support
• Provided Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) to ensure that components were in line with the pre-set technical specifications.
• Conducted Quality audits for ensuring compliance with ISO 9000, QS 9000 and TS 16949 quality standards.
Major Projects/tasks handled at M&M;
• Cab weld shop Projects for models: Bolero Pickup, MaXX Pickup, Camper, Commander, CL & MM.
• Implemented Tubular Chassis concept at M&M supplier facilities after due process & technology assimilation (Transfer of Technology, TOT) from South Africa.
• Successfully implemented ISO 9000, QS 9000 and TS 16949 Quality Systems in engineering department.
• Provided Supplier Technical assistance (STA) to component suppliers in Pune, Nashik and Mumbai for product launch of “Scorpio” in 2000 and to component suppliers in Hyderabad for product launch of “Tourister” in 2002.
