• Overall responsible for all activities involved in Logistics Export, Import and Domestics.
• Signing Contracts and Agreement with CHA, Forwarding Agencies and Transport Companies.
• Monthly dispatch plan based on sales plan for all three units - Goa, Hyderabad & Neemarana.
• Planning and distribution of finished goods on receipt of dispatch clearance from Marketing dept.
• Planning of dispatch as per vessel schedule for Export shipments.
• Laisoning with CHA, Freight Forwarding Agency and Transport Agencies for negotiation of freight, customs clearance charges and Ocean freight.
• Co-ordinating with CHA and Freight Forwarder for customs clearance of Import and Export shipments by Sea and Air.
• Issuing Work Order to Freight Forwarding Agencies for each Export and Import shipments after approving costing sheet by Regional Director - Operations.
• Arranging Pre-shipment inspections thru Bureau Veritas/SGS/Intertek & Cotecna for different country export.
• Placement of Trucks / Containers at respective plant and ensure that container to be loaded and offloaded from/at CFS/Port & original documents to reach CHA/FF to complete the export procedures with CFS, Customs, Port, Freight Forwarder / Steamer Agent for the planned vessels / flights.
• Scrutinizing of Pre-shipment Export documents, validate by Finance, approving Shipping Bill Checklists for Export shipments and BoE checklist for import shipments.
• Arranging Preferential Certificate of Origin from Export Inspection Agency.
• Co-ordination with Marketing Dept./Production Dept./Accounts Dept./Finance Dept./Quality Dept. / Purchase Dept. and Stores Dept. for smooth function of all Logistics activity.
• Handling containerized shipments by Rail from Thimmapur and Sanathnagar ICD’s Hyderabad.
• Responsible for smooth transaction of Third country exports and Import shipments.
• Taking POD’s from Transporter and Forwarding Agencies for Domestics and Export Shipments and sending MIS report to MD/Joint MD/Director Operations/CFO/Unit Head.
• Managing warehouse operations covering receipt, safe storage, issue, dispatch and transportation of materials.
• Implementation of system and procedures for entire Logistics network.
• Ensure that all shipments are undertaken to meet customer expectation in terms of standard service, costs and time frames and free of damages.
• Depth knowledge of exports for sector like- South Africa, Burkina Faso, Uganda, Kenya, East Asia, US, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Cameroun, Benin & Nigeria.
• Allocating tasks to subordinates and ensuring compliance within specified timelines.
• Managing team of 10 people within department.
• Managing contract labours of nearly 20 to 25 people every day.
LOGISTICS OPERATIONS WHICH INCLUDES SALES ORDER, EXPORT DOCUMENTATION, LETTER OF CREDIT SCRUTINY, ARRANGMENTS OF CONTAINERS, TRUCKS, NEGOTIATION OF OCEAN FREIGHT WITH SHIPPING LINE AND FREIGHT FORWARDER, TRACKING OF SHIPMENTS, COMPILE OF EXCISE AND CUSTOMS FORMALITIES, IMPORT EXPORT CLEARANCE, BILL OF LADING, CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN, MIS REPORT, EXCISE RETURNS, BANKING DOCUMENTATION, BILLS PROCESSING ETC.
