/ assess patient using Canadian Triage Acuity Scale, Wong baker scale, FLACC and Numerical scale.
INFECTION CONTROL LINK NURSE OF THE CLINC - Doing daily rounds, maintain cleaning checklist, periodically updating the HEP-B titer/ immunization and MRSA screening for the new staffs, maintain monthly statistics of the notification of infectious disease in the clinic, monitoring the staffs hand hygiene compliance monthly etc.
SAFETY COMMITTEE MEMBER of the clinic.
PRECEPTOR for the newly joining staffs.
Committed to providing rapid evaluation and treatment of patients’ condition or illness in order to accomplish discharge within sixty minutes of arrival.
Ensures efficient unit flow by coordinating & planning clinic activity, communicate patient’s needs, make referrals, serves as a resource person of insurance information.
Delivers direct patient care, assess patient physical, psychosocial and/ or emotional needs, provides patients need & family teaching, inform physician of patient status, respond to telephone messages & inform doctors as needed.
Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
Initiate & coordinate Code Blue if necessary.
Administers medications as assigned, serves a resource person for knowledge of medication uses, side effects, & dosage, check for proper medication order, document medications, reviews drug samples to ensure they have not exceeded the expiration date, labels sample drugs & educates patients of medication administration.
Performs Rapid Streptococcal/influenza test, blood glucose test, Hb-test, Rapid troponin-T, urine dipstick analysis to aid in the physician’s diagnosis.
Starts, maintain, and discontinue IV Therapy . Administer medications orally, IM, SC, & IV .
Obtain specimen for specific diagnostic examination (blood, sputum, throat swab, & eye swab).
Proficient in all documentation (Computer).
Performs other duties as assigned & managing heavy daily patient volume in the unit.
Reacted calmly and effectively in emergency situation, and added the personal caring touch that immediately put patients at ease.
Behave in professional manner & maintain good interpersonal relationship with other staff, department, managers, & physicians
Operate equipment: IV Pump (ALARIS), Defibrillator, ECG, Oximetry, BP & Temperature Probes
Nebulizes patient as ordered by physician and monitors patient during & after treatment.
Assists physician in minor procedures such as suturing, wound dressing, removal of foreign bodies, cast application, cryocautery, Pap smear and Ultrasound
*MEDICAL & SURGICAL WARD:
Admits patients & receives endorsement from outgoing shift.
Make rounds at periodic intervals.
Prepares equipment and assist doctor when doing bedside procedures.
Takes vital signs, administer medications at schedule time and maintain accurate nursing documentation.
Update nursing Kardex and care plan. Enters the orders into the computer & completes patient charges daily.
Participate in the orientation of new staff & provide nursing students with the opportunity to observe and learn.
Doing NG tube care, catheter care, T-Tube care and also giving NG tube, Gastic tube feeding to the patient.
Does bladder irrigation, suctioning and bowel wash for the patient.
Prepares patients for preoperative procedures and monitor patient to prevent any post-operative complications.
Starts, maintains, & discontinues IV therapy and blood transfusion as ordered.
Provides health care teachings and home instructions to patients & family upon discharge.
Adheres to hospital policies and procedures.
Practices good communication skills and behave in a professional manner at all times.
Attend mandatory yearly educational program staff meetings, in-service training to enhance professional growth.
Prepares & escort patient for diagnostic procedures such as X-ray, Ultrasound, CT-Scan, etc
