Develop, maintain, and administer the Integrated Library System and Library " KOHA and Smart Library System". Develop the Smart library System and the mobile application. Perform Integrated Library System "I'm the owner of this system". Configuration changes and related technical administration tasks such as managing release, version upgrades, system patches, monitoring system performance, testing, documenting and implementing software changes. Develop and maintain an up-to-date, accurate and comprehensive library resources database. Periodically create, analyze and prepare reports on systems activities. Support in the development and implementation of library discovery and reporting tools that enable effective searching, retrieval and delivery of library resources. Participate in the identification, evaluation, and recommendation of system improvements and processes. Provide functional support for all activities related to the Integrated Library System. Support in the development of library collections through a thorough understanding of curricular and research needs by coordinating with different departments. Based on identified needs, support in the identification, location, and selection of items to add to MACHS library collection. Handle cataloguing and metadata creation to allow users to search for material through online catalogue searches. Monitor standardization and consistency in cataloguing and provides assistance in resolving complex cataloguing problems. Responsible for creation of and updating relevant material in MACHS library user manual Coordinate with Professional Development function to develop and deliver training to Library staff to enable them to use the Integrated Library System. Keep abreast of latest technologies, trends and practices in library technical services. The admin of Ebsco EDS platform for online databases.
Duties involves managing 15 libraries, which are spread over the Five branches of the University of Al-Ghad International Colleges for applied medical sciences. In addition to administrative responsibilities and the running of the day-to-day affairs of the libraries, job responsibilities include policy recommendation, departmental planning, managing databases (including online Saudi Digital Library, e- resources), preparing purchasing requests and technical evaluation of requests as well setting up strategies and directions related to library activities.
