I have been hired by Zuhair Fayez Partnership Consultants- one of the leading Consulting firm of Saudi Arabia as Transport Economist and for their project namely; Development of Comprehensive Master Plan for Transportation & Traffic in Makkah. Under this project the following assignments have been carried out:
• Involved in formulation of  Comprehensive Master Plan for Transportation & Traffic in Makkah• Coordinated with other agencies i.e. traffic police department, Saudi Arabian Public Transport Company,  chambers of commerce & industries, private transport operators (passenger & freight companies)• Visitor Survey & analysis/report for the pilgrims visiting Makkah in the two seasons i.e. Ramadan & Hajj
• Public Transport Survey & analysis/report for the operations of Public transport service in Makkah in Ramadan & Normal days
.• Evaluation of current status of public transport system in Makkah
• Freight Transport Survey/Analysis
• Road Side Survey Analysis
 • Traffic Count Survey & Analysis

• Developed NTC MU implemented by Planning Commission Govt. of Pakistan with World Bank support ensuring NTC improvement program targets
• Initiated & coordinated process for undertaking transport studies including aviation studies for reforms
• Involved in reviewing organizational structure, role and financing of airport administration
• Managed monitoring/evaluation of transport projects/feasibility studies including aviation proposed by Ministries under National Trade Corridor Improvement Programme (NTCIP)
• Participated in formulating investment Plans for public sector & policy to facilitate Public Private Participation
• Procurement of consultants for carrying out studies to introduce reforms in transport & air transport sectors

Performed following task while serving as director of road transport:

• Involved in the process right from preparation to signing and operationalization of international agreements concerning Road Transportation (including both passengers and goods transport) between Pakistan and neighboring countries.
• Undertaking Feasibility Studies and Economic / Financial Appraisal of Transport Projects and Preparation of Medium and Long-Term Investment Plans in transport sector particularly for Asian Highway Network in Pakistan
• Providing input to ECO Multimodal Transport System.
• Examination of policy matters relating to:
o Road Transport and Motor Vehicles,
o Accession to TIR, Regional Connectivity Program such as Central & South Asia Transport & Trade Forum (CSATTF),
o Road Safety
Special Task Performed:
• Appointed as one of the members of National Consultants team by ADB and carried out SAARC Regional Multimodal Transport Study (SRMTS), Sept. - Dec. 2005
• Counterpart on Macro Economic Planning and Transport Demand Forecasting for preparation of master plan study namely; "Pakistan Transport plan Study (PTPS)"
• Conducted Vehicle operating cost & Inter-modal traffic allocation studies.

Assignments completed includes:-
• Finalization of Project proposal document (PC-I) and its processing through relevant Government Authorities 
• Economic Analysis of Transport/Road projects (Public Sector/BOT Projects)
 • Preparation of Long Term & Short Term investment plans and projects for highways
• Preparation & processing of Feasibility Studies of highways projects
• Evaluation of Technical & Financial Proposals/Bids for the procurement of Consultants & Contractors for Feasibility, Design & Project Document (PC-I)
• Collaboration with ADB on Road Development Sector Projects (NHA-Component) proposed for provinces of Baluchistan & NWFP including economic evaluation of the schemes and poverty impact ratio analysis in the Project Area.
• Participated in evolving institutional reforms/framework for various sections of National Highway Authority (Pak) with a view to improve their organizational structure and enhance capacity and productivity
.• Undertaking comparative analysis of roads for linking Gwadar Port with Up-country North, Afghanistan & Central Asian States as well as improving sub-regional connectivity
• Collection/Provision of data to Planning Commission for Post evaluation/ monitoring of road projects
 • Organized and attended the meetings to operationalize the Transit Transport Framework Agreement (TTFA), held at Islamabad in August, 2003
.• Preparation of Road Plan (2005-2010)

• Research & analysis of issues of overall transport system development, operations/services & management. This includes aviation/air transport
• Feasibility studies of transport projects, Evaluation of project targets, Traffic count survey, traffic trend/forecasts including air transport traffic & modal split
• Monitoring and Financial / Economic Appraisal of transport / road projects on PPP / BOT basis
• National Transport Plan Study (1995) including air transport undertaken in collaboration with JICA
• Reports- transport policy, national road plan (1998-2010), traffic forecast for road, rail, air and sea transport
• Research done-VOC study, toll revenues Vs maintenance costs on national highway (N-5),
• Input to the studies-road user charges, Rawalpindi-Islamabad public transport, M2 traffic & revenue analysis

• Sect-oral Planning policy, budgeting and formulation of short/long terms plans including five years integrated plan for development of Transport &Communications /air transport sectors in relation to national policy.
• Planning, Appraisal and Evaluation of Projects relating to transport & communications sector including aviation
• Forecasting traffic (including air traffic) to cater for domestic and international trade, imports / exports potential and make recommendations for improving infrastructure capacity to meet future demand/requirements.
