In my research, I extensively use typical transition metal catalyzed coupling reactions (Stille, Suzuki, Sonoghashira and Buchwald-Hartwig etc. cross coupling reactions) to develop π-conjugated systems. I also implement the direct heteroarylation method to synthesis the donor-acceptor (D-A) type of conjugated small molecules as well as D-A co-polymers. During the last more or less three years, I achieved significant progress in designing and understanding the structure property relationship of organic semiconducting materials. I examined several non-fullerene acceptors based on Perylenebisimide, Benzothiadiazole and Diketopyrrolopyrrole for organic solar and obtained fundamental and practical results that have been communicated in various reputed international journals for publication. The special emphasis in my work is place on the studies of photophysical, optoelectronic and electrochemical properties of π-conjugated systems. I search the low cost, efficient and stable π-conjugated systems for OPV, OFETs, OLEDs and Interfacial charge transport materials for organic-inorganic hybrid solar cells applications. To further, I am investigating the chiroptical properties of π-conjugated molecules based on tetrapyrrolic moieties such as Corrole and Porphyrins. This approach enables the development of novel circular polarized light emitters for efficient and cost-effective OLEDs that may be used in numerous applications, even beyond lighting and displays system research.
Developing the new semiconducting polymers and small molecules by using chemical and electrochemical methods, for organic electronic applications.
