Responsible for the operation of Utilities equipment’s, associated line works & parameters in designated area of the plant. Involves in Plant pre-commissioning, start-up / shutdown of machines and its associates pipes-work, operating, controlling and monitoring of their operating conditions. Perform minor maintenances (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrument and line work). Always carry out duties in a safe, reliable & efficient manner while minimize the adverse environmental impact in compliance with the company HSE policy. Receives regular training in firefighting and use of emergency equipment under supervision of Safety Department. Utilities Section is divided into 4 general areas, i.e. common facilities, boiler area, general module area and MPCC panel.
Modules Consist of:
1) 9 x 380 t/hr, 60 barg water tube boilers.
2) 9 x Forced Draft Fan supplying combustion air to boilers.
3) 9 x Air pre heaters to preheat combustion air to boilers.
4) 9 x 480 t/hr. BFW pumps.
5) 3 unit of Deaerators with 12 unit of feed pumps.
6) Chemical injection facilities for BFW treatment
7) 3 steam driven turbo generators of 16 MW each
8) 3 steam turbine driven instrument air compressors
9) 6 instrument air dryers,
10) 3 condensate polishers, 6 distillate polishers
11) FCW system, condensate and boiler feed water system.
Common Facilities Consist of:
1) 7 gas turbine generators of 20MW each
2) 1 LP steam condensing turbo generator rated at 20 MW
3) 5 nitrogen plants
4) Sea Cooling Water
5) 3 electric motor driven instrument air compressor
6) Fuel gas system
7) FCW system, 6 instrument air dryers
8) 2 x 90 t/hr Demin water treatment plants
9) 2 x 75 t/hr. sea water distillation unit.
10) 2 fire water pumps
11) Electrical distribution system ranges from 33, 000 volts down to 415 volts, with 37 Substations and 37 MVA link to SESCO (State Power).
12) Waste water treatment & disposal.
Multi-skill: Involved in Plant Pre-commissioning, Plant Start-up, Shutdown, and Plant Operations. As a Lead buddy, trains, motivates & couching new staffs, at the same time ensure smooth knowledge transfer. Take charge the Console panel if panelman is absent. Acting supervisor, managing/Operating PETRONAS LNG COMPLEX Electrical power TRIANGLE. Routine test-run weekly all emergency generators (Gen-sets). Preparing shift superintendent E-log for shift handover, highlights, safety reports, OPS Instruction logs and more others. Conducting toolbox talk, highlight of the day, shift meeting, safety briefing, knowledge transferring etc. Maintains a specific understanding of current operating changes within area by reference to daily instructions, panel logbooks and shift changeover communications. Checks & reports verbally on all equipment in job area on a regular basis, including monitoring and logging of operational parameters to ensure normal working conditions are
maintained. Makes corrective adjustment independently when parameters are offset from operating margins & immediately reports any major deviations. Ensures all standby equipment are ready for immediate service. Starts or stops all items of machinery within area at the request of superior in accordance with operating procedure guides. Checks all maintenance work in job area to ensure safe working conditions are being adhered to in accordance with superior special instructions. Isolates and makes safe equipment as required for maintenance work in job area. Takes part in emergency exercises and firefighting training. Maintains understanding of current operation and safety
procedures, standing instructions and general plant information. Responsible for the good housekeeping in job area
and the cleaning of specific equipment. Perform all safety equipment routine checks to ensure availability i.e. SCBA,
eyewash, firefighting equipment etc. Respond to the operational upset and plant emergencies and make necessary
process adjustment and shut down. Assist On-The-job-Training of new trainees assigned to job area. Acquired
knowledge and skill for advancement in career progression.
NITTCB: National Industries Technical Trade Certification Board, Passed (Grade not applicable). MARA Technical Institute Kuala Lumpur. - Kuala Lumpur 1978 to 1980. Field study: General Mechanic, lathe machining, welding, sheet metal, electrical, Technical drawing, math, and fitting.
