PLC software program (SIMATIC MANAGER step 7), with making a lot of modifications to improve, stabilize and make full safety to the equipments and operation, these modifications is made by PLC step 7 ladder diagram and statement list.
-Full installation and commissioning of Siemens Micro-master Drive to control cooling conveyer with making intercommunication between the drive, PLC and Scada system.
-Full installation and commissioning of many soft-starters to control roller table motors with making intercommunication between the drive, PLC and Scada system.
#the communication between drives and PLC via profibus modules and fiber optics cables.
#Data transfer from PLC to HMI and vis versa and also making a lot of modifications in the HMI masks using the Factory Link program.
# Follow up operation parameters at HMI.
# Follow up the sequence using data logger.
-Working as electric and automation engineer in EMARATE STEEL INDUSTRIES at UAE responsible of the electrical and automation tasks in rebar and wire rod rolling mills,
-I was involved in the commissioning of both plants under supervision of the contracted Italian company “Danilli” which designed and supplied the mills.
-I was involved in commissioning of:
#ABB synchronous motor and ABB ACS 6000.
#SIEMENS MASTER and MICRMASTER DRIVES (hardware and software).
# SIMATIC MANAGER step 7 PLC (hardware and software).
# The PLC and drives networks like profibus and MPI and the interconnection between it.
# The field devices either digital or analog.
# Cold and hot commissioning.
# Preparing the snag lists in the commissioning procedures and highlighting it.
# Preparing the extra modifications which required from Danilli to improve the process.
After the mill was handed over completely to our company, I took the following responsibilities:
-I am responsible of taking the periodic backups of PLC projects, HMI masks, drives parameters and OWS setup pages.
-Making many software modifications using PLC step 7 and HMI win CC and communicate each other like:
# Making C-Hook HMI project designed by win-CC program which includes 8 pages describing all the area process, operation and control.
-Making self-improving in step 7 STL (indirect addressing) and SCL for data managing system and tracking.
-Supervise the preventive and predictive maintenance jobs related to PLC, Drives, Motors and filed devices.
-Troubleshooting many different types of problem in electrical, automation and process fields.
- Following up and analyzing the process sequences using graphical programs like FDA.
- Implementing full safety procedures for all types of tasks in PM or CM jobs.
- Appling and filing work standers and procedures which is related to electrical activities.
- Analyzing the data transfer between level 2 and PLC from PLC side.
- Using the computerized maintenance system (SAP).
, SIMAC (Member of SMS), the contracted Italian company, designed and supplied the mill, Capacity 1.2 Million ton / year , , two lines rebar and one for wire rode .
-Starting my work in the commissioning period of the factory under supervision of the Italian engineers and still working in steady state condition to reach the full load capacity.
-Working during this period in the field of hardware equipments and software programs.
Hardware equipment:
#involved in the installing and commission of ABB 33/11 KV.
#involved in the installing and commission of ABB Static Var Compensator (SVC).
#Many types of digital and analog sensors such as proximitys, flow switchs, pressure switch, photocells, hot metal detector…ext.
#Many types of analog sensors such as flow and pressure transducers, thermocouples, pyrometers, loop scanners….ext.
#DEMAG overhead cranes.
#D.C motors and its maintenance regarding to brushes, commutator and lubrication.
#A.C motors and its maintenance regarding to greasing.
#Drives of D.C motors (ABB DCS 500) and A.C motors (ABB ACS 600) with strong dealing with its parameters, control circuit, software programming (CMT) and communication with PLC.
#Step down transformers 220/11 KV, 11KV/550 V, 11KV/380V with its protections.
#Protection panels of transformers which contain circuit brakers, protection relays and control circuits.
#11 KV power factor and harmonic filters to absorb the third, fifth harmonics.
# # Making tests for medium voltage protection relays (as PR 512) using secondary injection device.
