• Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and legislation.
• Updating the HR systems (Lawson and Connect people) with the appropriate employee actions and changes.

• Employee Data Management
Manages the processing of information in the PeopleSoft system.
Responsible for the management of data of all new hires (Regular employees), promotions, reclassifications, transfers, leaves, separations, benefit updates, overload payments, and step increments.
• Calculates and inputs retroactive payments.
Review payroll on a bi-weekly basis. Correcting errors before the final payroll is run to the check that all the new entries were processed correctly.
• Union Contract Interpretations
Language for all four unions (CWA, AFT, AFSME and IFPTE) is interpreted and evaluated so that all negotiated salaries and benefits are inputted.
All across-the-board increases, clothing allowances, shift bonuses, and regular bonuses are calculated correctly and timely.
• Reports
Prepare clear, accurate, and informative correspondence and reports related to the personnel records, HR dashboard reports, Provides internal reports as requested by department managers.
Prepare all reports for auditors for regular employees along with back up data to support the reports, Prepares data for surveys and analysis.
• Information Requests: Supervise all requests for employee information,
Written inquiries regarding employment, and all other received documents are answered timely.
• HRIS (Oracle- PeopleSoft)/Personnel Management Information System (PMIS):
Both systems are supervised and maintained.
All information such as salary grade tables, job class master tables, and bracket step tables are kept current using PeopleSoft, Record histories of classified employees are up to date on PMIS. All information is entered into the correct system accurately and timely. All data is current and correct.
• Personnel Record Maintenance
Ensure the proper filing of documents chronologically in the employee’s personnel folders. Do a routine maintenance of files to ensure compliance.
• Administer benefits and performance management systems.
• Handles Payroll data and personnel data changes
• Conduct exit interviews
• Identify staff vacancies and perform full cycle recruitment, interview and select applicants.
• Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates, job analysis and evaluation.
