On-going Projects:
PO # 4248 - UMSQEMRD Substation.
Job Responsibilities:
* Handling multiple Projects - start from tendering, engineering, FAT, site technical support, As-Built
playing a complete responsible role in Mechanical team including handling of valuable clients.
* Responsible for HVAC, Fire Fighting, Fire Alarm & EOT Crane detailed engineering drawings review and
approval including site works while installation, testing & commissioning.
* Review of conceptual layouts for HVAC & Fire Protection drawings as per DUBAI CIVIL DEFENCE
requirement and getting approval for the same which is required to obtain the building permits.

* Reviewing / preparation of documents (Drawing, Technical Specification, BOQ and Tender Documents)
related with Mechanical, HVAC, Fire Alarm and Detection, EOT Crane.
* Managing Engineering & site technical support works of multi projects.
* Review sub-contractor’s shop drawings against the design \[tender\] drawings for compliance with the
DEWA Standards and specification.
* Responsible for clear compliances of various standards such as NFPA, ASHRAE, ASME & BS and other
applicable standards for quality deliverables.
* Review and control design effectively so that changes at sites are minimized by adopting changes
control methods through proper and timely coordination and communication activities.
* Attending all DEWA/Consultant/Contractor meetings regarding layouts, approval follow-ups with
respective lead engineers/Project managers.
* Following up with client/Engineer for early approval, by conducting meeting and visiting their offices
for timely approval and taking care of comments and concern raised by Client/Engineer for timely
completion for approval of drawings.
* Monitoring drawing preparation as per standards, specifications and scope of work and allotting
manpower to complete drawing release and submissions.
* Organizing technical discussions and reviewing document from vendors for project finalization and
coordinate with contracts department for the same.
* Responsible for Civil/MEP coordination layouts and to support the drafting team.
* To follow up the builder work layout for co-ordination layout prior to civil casting.
* Visiting and inspecting site activities and compare with design and informs site team about project
completion schedule and follow up for timely complying with quality standards.
* Involving other departments such as Civil and Electrical during meetings and discusses about all site
related practical issues and resolves them with time, quality and costs as parameters for project
accomplishments.
* Close coordination with Civil Engineering for inter related substation structural drawings.
* Develop technical procedures and contributes to the development of standards, specifications,
construction documents, and guidelines.
* Establish and maintain professional relationships with our external business partners.
* Acts as a lead in root cause analysis and make recommendations to resolve issues & for improvement.
* Strong relationship management skills with Project’s Members, Consultants, Engineers, Clients,
Vendors, Suppliers, Sub-Contractors & so on for framing structural parameters as well as the technical
& commercial specifications.
* Manage large highly complex projects and perform engineering analyses, studies, and develop
conceptual designs.
HVAC
* Review of Material submittals such as PU’s, Fans, Split Units, Motorized Fire Dampers, Fire Dampers,
Ductwork Materials, Fire Rated Ducts, Volume Control Dampers, HVAC Control Panel, Sand Trap
Louvers, Grilles, Diffusers & Refrigerant Piping System Works.
* Site Coordination works for AC and ventilation system.
* Technical Discussions with Consultant and Client till the Documents, Drawings Approvals.
* Coordination with HVAC vendor for giving inputs such as electrical panel loads and lighting loads to
prepare the heat load calculation.
* Review and Preparation of ‘U’ Value calculation and heat dissipation loads.
* Review of AC and ventilation system layout in accordance with approved cooling load calculation and
also as per the requirement of “Dubai Municipality Green Building Regulations”.
* Preparation of BOQ for HVAC Ducts, Dampers Supply & Extract Fans and to make necessary
arrangements with suppliers for material purchase.
* Coordination with vendors for giving manufacturing clearances for the approved materials as per
DEWA standard material list.
* Coordination between vendor and DEWA for obtaining FAT dispatch clearances.
* Coordination of site activities for AC and ventilation system.
* Review Quality Assurance Plan and technical submittals received from vendors.
* Attending local FAT’s, Review and responsible for FAT notification to Owner / Engineer for HVAC
Package Units and HVAC Control Panel and obtaining the dispatch clearances.

Fire Fighting
* Review of material Submittals for Fire Protection and Fire Alarm System as per DEWA standards
material submittal list.
* Responsible for review of Fire Fighting / Fire Alarm drawings received from respective design
consultant.
* Review of Fire Water Tank calculation as per the project requirement.
* The System includes portable fire extinguishers and trolley type fire extinguishers such as foam
type and dry chemical powder.
* The System includes the fire alarm and fire detection systems with the optical, UV/IR detectors,
aspiration type detectors and ionization smoke detectors, heat detectors with fire alarm control
panel.
* The System also includes deluge / water mist system.
* Attending local FAT’s, Review and responsible for FAT notification to Owner / Engineer for Fire
Pumps, Fire Water Tanks, Fire Alarm Control Panels and Fire Extinguisher Control Panels and
obtaining the dispatch clearances.
* Coordination of site activities for Fire Fighting system.
EOT Cranes and Monorail
* Review design drawings / documents for Cranes used in 400kV & 132kV GIS room indoor
substation building in coordination with Crane Access platforms.
* Review of Quality Assurance Plan and technical submittals received from EOT crane vendors.
* Co-ordination of monorail in the fire pump rooms for shifting pumps and above ground floor plans
for shifting electrical panels.
* Attending local FAT’s, Review and responsible for FAT notification to Owner / Engineer for 5MT &
6.3MT EOT Cranes and obtaining the dispatch clearances.
Plumbing
* Design coordination and finalization of drain pits for power transformers, earthing transformers
and shunt reactors.
* Design coordination of pump capacity for portable water pump/tank with proper Approval from
owner / engineer.
* Review of Material submittals such as Sump pumps, Transfer pumps, Booster pumps and Level
Transmitter / Indicator and obtaining the approvals for the same.
INOPC Indian Operation Centre - Working for Saudi Substation Projects
ETA is one of the leading multinational Contractors, who are engaged in construction, erection, installation
and commissioning of 220kV, 132kV, 33kV Substations and 11kV switching stations to various facilities
viz., ADWEA, DEWA and FEWA.
Reviewing documents received from vendors for project finalization.

* Review of conceptual layout of HVAC and FPS system in coordination with overall equipment
layout.
* Mail correspondence, coordination and giving inputs to HVAC, FPS and Crane Vendors.
* Preparation of single line diagrams, Overall substation Equipment layout and co-ordination
drawings for the substation
* Preparation of Earthing layout, Cable tray/ladder layout, Cable routing layout and its bill of
materials.
* Co-ordination of various aspects of the substation design and layouts such as slab openings, wall
openings, switchgear fixing layouts, overall substation duct bank layouts, Communication duct
bank layouts and cable support structure layouts etc.
* Preparation of the substation design and layouts such as lighting layouts, small power layouts,
shielding layouts, building rebar Earthing layouts, and cable support structure layouts etc.
* Co-ordination between other departments such as civil, mechanical, project management, site
management team to handle the projects with a strong orientation towards client satisfaction.
* Review of drawings and specifications received from supplier/vendor.
* Power Transformer Catchment Area Calculation.
