I currently manage a team of Recreation Supervisor and Agents, Kids Club Supervisor and Attendants, Tennis coach, Babysitters and Swimming Instructors. I am responsible for planning and organising activities, events and parties, designing and implementing new ideas and programs, and ultimately ensuring that our guests are the happiest they can be, and will recommend us and return to us. My position is very front of house operational, and very active. I am relied upon to take part in many management committees and initiatives within the hotel and the company, and hold many responsibilities aside from those assigned to my job role.

Within my position, I was responsible for 11 hotels regarding Sustainability. I was also responsible for the Regional Office, handling the personal administration of the Regional General Manager. This role is rather comprehensive, and all-encompassing. My duties included (but were not limited to); monthly hotel visits, environmental management systems, achieving internationally recognised awards, guest environmental awareness, conducting staff sustainability training, monitoring resource consumption, promoting corporate responsibility, organising charity projects, events and donations, coordinating staff motivation and loyalty initiatives with HR department, health & safety, hygiene, quality, monitoring and reporting of customer reviews and ratings from tour operators, review websites, and in-house guest satisfaction indices, compiling monthly GM reports encorporating projects, operational issues, and p&l information. I was also responsible for coordinating agendas for the senior company directors, and filing sensitive data. I had two line managers, I reported to the Regional GM for the half of my job relating to administration, and I reported to the Company Director of Sustainability with regards to the Environment. I reported to both of them equally in health, hygiene, safety and quality.

Reporting directly to the GM, and responsible for TQM, with a particular emphasis on sustainability, health, hygiene and safety, and guest satisfaction. Whilst there, I implemented their sustainability system.

Responsible for a team of 11 Holiday Advisors, across 25 hotels in Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Nuweiba and Taba. Main duties involved staff training, coaching and development, setting targets, handling customer complaints, incidents, accidents and general welfare, organising excursions, quality management meetings with hoteliers, and responding to legal claims.

I was employed initially as Assistant Travel Shop Manager, for First Choice Retail, but was promoted after 1 year to be Shop Manager, working at Blackburn branch. I was then given the responsibility of Senior Shop Manager, with a cluster of 5 shops in Greater Manchester reporting to me. Whilst I was working in Tourism Retail, my ambition was to work overseas. When First Choice Retail opened 2 shops in Egypt and Turkey, I transferred, and became responsible for the 2 shops, from 2007 onwards. I was responsible for setting and exceeding targets, customer service, staff development, foreign exchange and money handling in large quantities, aswell as all the normal management tasks (safety, security, p&ls etc)
