A brief employment with Nans Group, a new company formed initially in Bahrain and currently own and run Speed Car Hire, Nans Group Speech Therapy Center and FACT Bahrain magazine, saw me assist them in their attempts to move in to Qatar and start up similar ventures.

• I underwent continuous market research relating to both the Car Hire and Magazine.
• Met with Car Retailers Nissan, Mitsubishi and Toyota to negotiate prices for fleets.
• Viewed and reported on potential suitable locations for a Speech Therapy Center in Doha.
• Contacted all major hotels and made sure we were constantly up to date with any and all events at the various hotels.
• Researched laws in Qatar for setting up the various types of businesses we intended to run.
• Attended meetings between Nans Group General Manager, lawyers and potential business partners.
• Attended press conferences and public events on behalf of FACT Magazine Doha for the eventual 1st Issue.
• Began designing a website suitable for Speed Rent a Car.

Modern Services Limited (MSL) was a scaffolding company based in Qatar that was bought by large European based company Hertel.

Whilst working at MSL my role within the company changed from basic administration and accounting to dealing directly with our clients, which led to me creating spreadsheets to fit each individual client’s account, to be able to see an instant reconciliation of money owed, money to be invoiced, work in progress and work remaining.
Duties also included, but not limited to:
• Compiling a new payroll format
• Improving the filing systems
• Assisting with the design of a new company brochure
• Keeping records of all financial activities
• Entering data for our Scaffolding projects, including Daewoo Refinery, QAFCO-5 and Hyundai Ras Laffan project over the course of 3 years and calculating the monthly invoices from the collated information.
• Dealing directly with clients from companies such as Daewoo, Hyundai and Gama.

I taught both Physical Education and Art to students from Year 3 up until Year 9, both male and female. Duties included:
• PE: Over the course of the year the children learnt to play, at various levels, new sports like Badminton, Volleyball, and Rounder’s and improved on their Football, Basketball and general Athletics.
• I also helped to improve the children’s Fitness levels and their beliefs on the importance of keeping fit and participating in team as well as individual sports.
• Improving the children’s outlook on playing together as a team by encouraging them to work with each other and not against whilst still enjoying as a sport.
• Art - the work included teaching; painting, drawing, colouring, collages, cutting and pasting, brainstorming and working with others.
• As well as the teaching side of Art, I would encourage the children to bring out their creative sides by interacting with them, which often resulted in giving them more confidence

I taught a class of around 20 foreign children to speak and write English as a foreign language during the summer.

• Research for a new web site looking at designers and designs
• Researched potential names for new projects
• I also assisted with the design of various projects.
