IT Technical leader at Glasgow Caledonian University

• Initial brought onto the ISIS project (a £4M student record system) on a consultancy basis but after 5 months I was offered a long term contract.

• Leading a team of developers, dba and system administrators to deliver a new Integrated Student Information System (ISIS) the underlying platform was Agresso. This project had time driven deadlines set by universities student life cycle. Following the Prince2 methodology.

• Coordinated the installation of the ISIS estate which consists of a 40 plus server enterprise server farm. This includes clustered SQL server 2005 databases and network load balanced web servers. The whole estate had access to its own SAN which provides flexible growth of the estate. Working with virtualised test environments.

• Rolling out SharePoint Portal Services for the staff and student zones. This will allow the ISIS estate to have one central portal interface that all the other legacy system will be able to communicate through.

• Interfacing with the ISIS system with other systems on the estate such as the oracle finance and HR systems.

• Implementing Microsoft CRM 3 system that is being rolled out to the university department by department basis

• Improved resiliency of our web services by installing a hardware network load balancing solution. Similar solution to improve our database resilience which will be implemented later in the year.
