Working on a landmark Corporate Office Campus based on innovative and unique design by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (world’s leading architectural practice) with approximately 185, 000m2 gross area on a lot size of 5550, 000m2 having project value of QR 8 ($2.2) billion. It caters to 4, 300 employees ranging up-to the Ministerial level. The campus is self sufficient with Medical Center, Stadium, Helipad, Data Center, Corporate Training, Auditorium, Ballroom etc. in addition to 5, 600-covered structured parking.

Responsibilities include project management ranging from Client Brief to the final tendering process inclusive of infrastructure, traffic, HV / LV, environment and other allied disciplines. Coordination with authorities and statutory agencies forms part of day-to-day business. Collaboration with foreign consultants is the core business.

Senior Design Management at Bovis Lend Lease International Ltd. Int.

Overseeing the development of a 731 hectare Nakheel International City Phases 2 & 3 project. This Development comprises of 1, 280 lots for a net total floor area, excluding services and basements, of 9.7 million m2 and housing a population of 152, 000 inhabitants. The cost of project is AED 2.5 billion ($685 million).

Leading a dedicated team of six professionals with roles and responsibilities as follows:

* TPD (Third Party Developers) Design Management: The role includes following responsibilites:

- Nakheel delegated statutory role of building design reviews and approvals of individual lots as submitted by TPD’s in the light of Development Code.
- Author, edit and revise Development Code in the light of Client directive and vision of the Developemnt.
- Review and verify legal documents like affection plans for the Development before issue by the Client.
- Coordinate with contractors for asbuilt updates for provision of service connection information to TPD’s.

* Master Plan Related Activities:
- Prepare design options for Master Plan related changes as required by service providers, statutory authorities, infrastructure design updates and changes in the light of Client direction.
- Prepare reports, statiscal analysis, proposals, studies and reviews on numerous on demand requirements as required by the Client from time to time.

* Design Management

Landscape: Consultancy value of AED 6.1 ($1.67 million) million for a landscape area of 97.3 hectares
- Successfully concluded design.

CCTV: Client afterthought arising from a royal decree and posing complexity of retofitting both for design and implementation.
- Manage complex and intricate coordination with various stakeholders to ascertain that all the Client requirements are incorporated within the constraints of fairly advanced infrastructure construction.

Fairmont Resort Hotel, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai (Project cost of AED 550 million ($151 million).

Responsibilites included management of all aspects of architectural design, local standard specifications with emphasis on indigenous material and details, construction documentation and external works achieved through a team of six professionals in addition to involved coordination with all other related disciplines.

Worked as resident architect managing the team responsible for facilities management, building design plans and coordinate modifications and new construction from charting requirements in liaison with business units to final drawings and BOQ’s with tender / contract document management for company’s Head Quarter, eighteen regional offices and several satellite offices:
• Member of the Building Committee for the design of new campus complex for company’s Corporate Head Quarters spread over 160 acres of land. This committee coordinated all design and construction related activities and monitored overall progress as well as handled bottlenecks at any phase of project.
• Coordinated and finalized multiple 12 story building campus complex to house several thousand employees with different LOBs (lines of business) each with unique space, acoustic and structure needs.

Coordinator Hospital Expansion Project at Centura Health

Assisted in the Centura Health’s largest hospital major upgrade project. The team was project based and handled all aspects of design and implementation project.

Managed a team of 30 personnel including three Architects and three Urban Planners. The scope of architectural work covered every aspect of design ranging from landscape to building design of large hospitals as well as other complexes. Supervised design of new buildings as well as extensions of existing facilities for Formation Head Quarters, libraries, hospitals, hostels and other military installations. The urban planning work encompassed design of new large military bases and extension of existing cantonements.
• Established CAD Lab to standardize work flow and modernize design and drafting process. Also computerized and automated several routine functions to improve through put. This resulted in operational efficiency of 43% thereby turning out more designs without additional staff.
• Trained staff of fifteen for CAD Lab with varying degree of software and hardware skills into a strong and professionally proficient work force. The conversion of manual drawing work to computer based approach almost doubled the work output while maintaining higher quality standards.
• Completed a major initiative to convert all the standard hand drafted details into standardized packages on AutoCAD. This saved several man months of repetative work as well as made available hard to find drawings.
