1. FACILITY INFECTION CONTROL FOCAL PERSON
Designed an infection control plan for the facility in line with the ministry of health and WHO standards
ensuring that infection control measures are adhered to within the facility
Facilitated periodical swab collection on different strategic points within the facility and send for micro culture and sensitivity to prevent nosocomial infections by using proper disinfectants
2.TB INFECTION CONTROL FOCAL PERSON
Designed a TB infection control plan for the facility and ensuring that it is properly followed
Ensured a well ventilated facility to prevent the spread of TB
Screened and triaged coughers to prevent the spread of TB
Screened diagnosed, treated and cured TB and prevented spread within the community
Educated the community about the signs and symptoms of TB, spread and prevention
Screened all health workers within the facility for TB every six months to facilitate early diagnosis and treatment
Follow up TB treatment defaulters in the community to prevent spread of the disease to other members of the community
3, SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS FOCAL PERSON
Screened illegible patients for sexually transmitted infections including HIV
Provided contact slips to index patients as a tool for getting partners treated thereby preventing the spread of the disease
Screened all illegible patients for PAP smear for early diagnosis and treatment

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Screening and triaging patients
Checking vial signs, recording, interpreting, reporting and intervening appropriately
Consultation of patients, performing physical examination, prescription dispensation and administration of medication, oral, intramuscular and intravenously
Carrying out sterile procedures for example, dressings, suturing of minor injuries, suture removal phlebotomy and cannulation
Care of vaccines and vaccination of the under five population
Providing family planning services, performing parp smear
Team leading role during night shift
Taking the report, correctly identifying babies and checking the resuscitation trolley
Receiving sick babies and delivered mothers from labour Ward
Monitoring patients' condition through checking vital signs and intervening accordingly
Supervision of breastfeeding to promote baby nutrition
Implementing nursing care plans, evaluating and taking proper action
Giving the matron a report on patients' conditions in the ward
Participating in the doctor's round and management of patients
Participating in resuscitating of babies and mothers
Compiling a matron and a ward report at the end of the shift
Vaccination of babies with BCG before discharge and giving mothers information on follow up care plan
Involving the family in all the care provided to the mother and the baby to promote family support and union
Checking the emergency trolley and managing post natal emergencies
Admitting patients from labour ward and theatre, performing initial examination and doing observations on both the mother and the baby, formulating nursing diagnosis implementing interventions and evaluating outcomes
Taking the report and checking the emergency trolley
Providing pre and post operative care, counselling patients post miscarriages
