• Hands-on experience in performing tank farm and plant operations in terminal which having floating roof tanks, fixed roof tanks and handles almost all petroleum products (class A, B, C).
• Monitoring the ongoing operations in the terminal, that includes receipt and dispatch of petroleum products by ocean tankers, railcars, tank trucks from DCS panel i.e. Central Control Room
• My scope of work includes checking the line-up, monitoring of Tank parameters through ATG readings, tank preparation for receipt and dispatch of petroleum products to various units and to offsite terminals (rail and road terminal & marine terminal), which includes tank settling, mixing, product sampling, water draining. Monitoring pumps, handing over of pumps to electrical/mechanical dept for maintenance. Routine checkup of area for any abnormality.
• Pigging operation like cargo pigging and empty line pigging by means of nitrogen and air.
• Managing the process of preparing Tank modes after every operation and Stock Accounting.
• Calibration of Storage/Proven/Slop Tanks, Pipelines, Flow meters, Radar Gauges and Densitometer.
• Daily Road-Tank Truck Scheduling, Stock Accounting of Vessel uploading & unloading operations, pipeline transfers, Receipts/Dispatches coordinating with Railway Authorities on issues like Rake placement and Timely dispatch.
• Maintaining Compressors, Diesel Generator sets, Pumps, Oil-Water Separators, Floating Roof Seals, PV / Gate / Ball Valves etc.
• Carryout minor running repairs wherever possible and details faults for subsequent preparation of Defect Cards.
• Operations and Maintenance of Effluent Treatment Plant and Oil Water Separator Plant.
• Carry out the gas tests for combustible gas, oxygen, H2S and record it in a work permit.
• Coordinating with the terminal for implementation of Management of Change application in the terminal.
• Berthing the vessel in coordination with mooring master from port control.
• Complete and document appropriate ship/shore safety checks as required.
• Record shipping movements in the approach channel and maintain details logs of all berthing and loading/discharging times and all the parameters are logged as per procedure.
• Boarding the vessel and attending the pre-discharge meeting along with chief officer of the vessel, boarding officer, loading master, surveyors and sharing the information about loading/discharge plan, ship/shore facilities & restrictions from both side and emergency shutdown signals.
• Read, record and transmit meteorological data such as temperature, wind velocity and its direction etc.
• As a loading master handling the LPG, Ammonia and POL vessel loading and unloading operations.
• Regular communication with outside agencies like Port Customers, Port users, Railway department, other tankfarms to plan the operations activities.
• Regular communication with internal customers to meet operations oriented requirements.
• Supply of bunker to Cargo and Navy supply ships like cst180, cst380, LHSF, HSD.
• Doing cargo tank gauging, sampling and cargo calculations on vessel.
• From DCS panel monitoring and controlling field parameter like ROV, ESD.
• Executing the MLA connection to vessel. After completion of cargo discharge/loading operation blowing the MLA and disconnecting from vessel.
• Well versed with pigging operations with cryogenic nitrogen and compressed air.
• Updating the daily reports and the doing preventive maintenance as per schedule.
• Act as incident Coordinator in case of any incident/accident. Responsible for healthiness of jetty fire fighting equipments, Oil spill recovery equipments
• Ensuring optimum utilization of available resource.
• Supervision, distributing work and controlling workmen.
• Maintaining housekeeping in the Jetty
• Planning and preparation for the shipment on daily basis by attending Port meeting.
