Worked as the AVP - Head of HR Support Subsidiaries and as Remuneration Board Secretary for the Bank’s Real Estate Financing arm “Tamweel”. I was responsible for all local and international subsidiaries based in Pakistan, Sudan, Jordan, Turkey, Bosnia in addition to UAE like Investment Bank, Share Brokerage Firm, Real Estate Financing Firm, Sharia Consultancy, Facilities Management & Outsourcing Company. As HR lead, my objective was to manage the HR taking into account the Head Office standards in compliance with local regulation. For local subsidiaries, the focus was to contain the cost without compromising on efficiency and ultimately consolidate the entire HR of all local subsidiaries into the Head Office.

Introduced manpower plan techniques, automated recruitment mechanism (i-Recruitment) and competency based selection techniques. Redesigned recruitment policies and processes. Reduced cost by controlling attrition and introducing employee referral schemes. Designed and implemented management trainee program “Tamayaz” to achieve succession plan for positions at managerial level and to improve Emiratization percentage. Since that was the boom period in Gulf, the bank hired a work force more than 2, 500 (FTE and contractual) during that period.

With the team of 11 staff, we recruited 1200+ staff in addition to 4 country heads within the short span of one year. I introduced Onboarding, Induction, Orientation program, centralized manpower tracking system etc. I was also involved in their newly setup venture in Malaysian market after being the first foreign bank to be awarded a full-banking license by the Bank Negara Malaysia. The bank setup 19 branches by the end of 2007.
