Job Responsibilities:
Panda has about 200+ Hypermarkets and Supermarkets spread all over the Kingdom and UAE, its Sales on IBM POS, widely used Retail Application MMS (Merchandise Management System) on IBM Iseries to manage the Retail Business of about 500 Users with 6 Warehouses on AS/400 server, access from different locations using different communication lines like Remote Controllers, Leased Lines, Dial-up, Cisco routers, RF, wireless, VPN etc.
My Responsibilities to carry out multiple tasks in a day to day activities mainly on AS/400-Mimix, AIX, TSM, Linux servers, such as, Monitoring the jobs (Batch, Interactive & System Jobs/messages etc), Monitoring the Disk Space and handling the Error messages on AS/400 (system operator and application) and resolved them AIX and TSM Messages etc, login the call with SBM, for the technical problems, monitoring and resolving the TSM and mimix messages or escalate to mimix support if it is any technical related issues, set up job schedule entries system values etc
Monitoring the disk utilization, system cleanup, deleting the temporary journal receivers, Re-Organize Physical files time to time on AS400 to release spaces, Monitor system performance and usage, Set up and manage workflow through the system, Identify, implement, and maintain security-related system values, Troubleshoot communications problems etc.
Running queries on AS/400
Taking the daily / weekly/monthly backup of AS/400 systems
Install/Configure Client/Access, W-Telnet at Users PC to connect AS/400
Install/Configure different types of AS/400 Printers (Dummy Terminal Printers, Client/Access Printers, Twinaxial, LAN, serial and Parallel Printers
Involved as a panda employee during the upgrading OS/400 Operating system from V4R2 to V4R4, 9402-V4R4 to 9404-V5R1 and from 9404 V5R1to V5R2. 9404 V5R2 to 9406 V5R3 and then 9406 V5R3 to I740 V6R1.
Administrating AIX systems and IBM-TSM backup solution, our Ware house application is on Unix-AIX consists of 6 servers and 6 windows server.
15 Years experience in the AS/400 Environment ranging from Operations to System Administration including upgrades and applying PTF's, Security and networking on Operating Systems ranging from V3R7 to V6R1, experience of AS/400 Server model 620, 810, 520 and740, hands on experience on Mimix Administration, Configuration, Replication, Auditing, Monitoring and resolving the errors.
P.G Diploma in Computer Applications.
Academic: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (B.Sc) from Osmania University (India) in June, 1993. Passed in First Division. Technical: Diploma in AS/400 Administration,
