Directs and interprets human resource policies with an objective of aligning people to corporate strategy in subsidiaries. My involvement in Human resources activities includes HR strategy, Talent Management, workforce planning, recruitment and selection, human resource development, compensation and benefits plan, payroll, career management, organizational development, human relations and grievances…etc.


Responsibilities include:

• Play an advisory role to the business heads in subsidiaries on HR policy, processes and its amendments.
• Provide strategic direction to the business heads in subsidiaries for effective organization structures and change management as per Bank’s policies.
• Manage the selection and recruitment process in all Subsidiaries & strategize key hiring.
• Ensuring successful rollout and implementation of reward & recognition initiatives.
• Manage HR projects on turnkey basis.
• Conduct TNA along with the L & D in all subsidiaries.
• Maintain and develop the organization design as per business strategies of each subsidiary.
• Manage vertical/horizontal movements, succession planning, performance appraisal and other related elements.
• Reflect the HR drawn strategy into the HR operations.
• Job analysis and ensure maintenance & creation of job descriptions of existing and new jobs.
• Motivate and retain existing resources applying effective techniques within the HR policy & procedures.
• Ensure effective utilization of HRMS and it’s development.
• Provide necessary support to implement competency framework and ensure it’s utilization as a tool in talent assessment & acquisition.
• Manage Employee Relations issues including disciplinary, grievance, termination, leave...etc.

Major Accomplishments:
• Successfully restructured an investment bank, Staffing & Facility Management Company and a brokerage company of DIB Group in UAE.
• Recruited record 650+ staff during year 2013.
• Established the compensation strategy for newly acquired bank in Jordan. As a part of the conversion team, I played a key role in the conversion of this conventional bank into Islamic Bank. Developed and implemented HR policy and organization structure in conjunction with the bank’s overall strategy
• Establish HR department, built HR strategy, implemented job evaluation in the newly established bank along with managing key hiring mainly CEO and his direct reports.
• Developed HR policy for a major overseas wholy owned subsidiary bank in Pakistan
• Implemented a web based performance appraisal system that includes qualitative and quantitative performance criterion and staff development program(s) for outsource staff.
• Implemented HRMS.
• Established SLA’s between the subsidiaries and the parent organization.

Communicate HR Strategy across the Bank and ensure its implementation in conjunction with each Business Head. Provide support to all centers of excellence in their projects and initiatives and coordinate with business heads in its execution. Act as an advisor to business heads in their HR requirements.

• Develop HR Calendar constituting all projects and initiatives in line with overall HR strategy and ensure its implementation
• Guide Business heads on the corporate HR strategy and provide advisory support in embedding into their business objectives.
• Advice business on HR policy, processes and its amendments.
• Take initiatives on employee engagement and motivate business to optimize human capital.
• Guide business on new HR projects and initiatives in liaison with COEs and ensure it’s completion.
• Ensure having effective organization structure in addition to having clear roles and responsibilities of each unique job role across the Bank.
• Extend necessary support to business heads on their retention efforts for key talents and positions.
• Promote diversity and Emiratization.
• Take necessary initiatives to minimize staff issues and grievances.
• Provide support to COEs in delivering seamless HR services through defined SLA and exceed staff expectation.
• Manage HRBP team team to ensure meeting department goals and objectives.

Workforce planning, recruitment & selection were the key responsibilities within the Bank and it’s subsidiaries. Other responsibilities include ensuring key jobs are always occupied within the best possible time and quality with a complete backup plan to support any unexpected attrition. My team always excelled in Initiatives, Drive and in the execution of Recruitment Policies and procedures that are competitive and best in class in the banking industry. Our key focus was to ensure optimum cost and measuring hiring effectiveness.

Major Accomplishments:
• Implemented internal vacancy program for lateral and horizontal movement of existing staff which in turn improved motivation and reduced attrition.
• Redesigned recruitment policies and procedures which includes but not confined to limited employment contract policy, part timers, management trainees, internal vacancy etc.
• Introduced competency test for manager and non managers at entry level.
• Implemented Employee referral scheme resulting in reduction of Recruitment cost & cycle and improve quality.
• Designed and implemented management trainee program to achieve succession plan for positions at managerial level and to improve Emiratization percentage at this level.
• Introduced and implemented centralized manpower budget tracking system.
• Reduced attrition percentage by introducing exit interviews and suggested ways of improving employee satisfaction through periodical MIS.
• Reviewed and updated Recruitment policies and procedures.
• Managed Recruitment agencies, prepared shortlisting & selection process of agencies and their level of involvement with the business.
• Implements recruitment processes within the Bank with established service levels at each department level.

• Recruited a record of 1200+ staff within 10 months including 4 country heads.
• Standardized employment documentation policy procedures across the Bank.
• Designed and implemented management trainee program - ‘’Al Ruwaad’’ and ‘’Future Managers’’ to achieve saudization.
• Introduced a standardized approach with competency based job description across the bank.
• As a special assignment, provided functional consultancy for customization, parameterization, testing and implementation of Oracle HRMS.
• Streamlined recruitment process & procedures.
• Introduced capacity planning during the annual Manpower plan & costing.
