Providing DBA support for Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi.
Core banking application PHOENIX migration from I3 version to ME (Middle East) with Sybase ASE 15.0.3.
Providing day to day DBA support
• Managing corporate databases on Sybase ASE 12.0/12.5/15 with Replication Servers.
• Schedules, supervises, monitors and gives instruction to less experienced colleagues in all aspects of database administration. Ensures that all tasks and procedures are carried out effectively and efficiently to agreed levels of service.
• Responsible to manage the mission critical application running on Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise & Sybase Replication environment.
• As member of virtual teams works with other team across Operations to review, evaluate and implement necessary changes to infrastructure environment.
• Responsible for substantial technical decision-making or for teams of staff. If the latter, demonstrates the basic qualities associated with team leadership.
• Select technical tools etc in such a way as to meet set targets of cost, time, quality and performance.
• Communicate both formally and informally with all those with whom working interfaces arise whether they be colleagues, clients or customers.
• Initiate and makes time available to ensure general technical competencies and specializations are kept up-to-date in line with industry developments.
• Managing core applications (FrieghtSoft, DanzSale & OPAC) databases in Sybase ASE 15.
• Install, operate and maintain complex centralized and distributed computer
systems in a multi-vendor environment for mission critical database
applications.
• Perform last level support to all customers, infrastructure and develop solutions
to stabilize customer environments.

Overall administration of Pakistan I.T. Department & heading 10 staff members. Solaris System Administration of Sun Ultra Enterprise Series Servers. Having good exposure of device management through Solstice Disk Manager, Hardware Raid Manager, User Management & other system administration tasks. Sybase SQL Server 11 Back end development & Routine Database Installation & Management operations. Having very good exposures of database troubleshooting, user management and database objects like trigger, table, indexes, constraints and procedures. Good command over Transact SQL. Presently Managing two databases of about 200 users. Involved in software development projects alongwith a team of Java developers for problem analysis, design & implementations. Involved in planning, deisgning and implementations of Wide & Local Area Networks. System Analysis of hardware & software solutions. Involved in various policy making of the department like Internet, Security, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuty &Users Access etc. User support & problem solving emerging through everyday operations. Liaison officer for Internal/External Audits. Prepare training documents, manual & policy documents of the department. Involved in ATM (Teller Machines) installation/implementation project. Involved in migration &computerization of Bank's Kenya Operations (4 Branches) alongwith merger of two banks Manage &execute the full project of migration from Solaris 2.6 to 9 &Sybase 11.0.3 to Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise 12.5.x in Pakistan Operations of the Bank Involved in porject development, implementation &maintenance of Bank's various products like Debit Card, GSM Phone Banking &Tele Banking Services Involved in Information Security Setup of Bank
