Training programme

At BDC, we provide a broad portfolio of courses that further develop the food industry and the general public’s skills in baking, culinary and food management. We also structure our course content to meet international culinary and baking standards as this further enhances food preparation skills.

We currently offer the following courses:



BREAD MAKING

PASTRIES, CAKES AND BISCUITS

COOKING AND DAIRY PRODUCTS

BAKERY ACCOUNTING AND MANAGEMENT COURSES

Resident Bakery School:-

Our specialised baking classroom is fully equipped with all of the utensils, machinery and resources our students need to learn new bakery skills. Morning, afternoon and evening sessions allow groups of 24 students to study the science of baking while putting modern baking techniques into practice.

Research & Development Bakery:-

Our R&D bakery allows us to develop best practices and research new baking techniques in a practical demonstration facility for up to 60 people. The bakery’s modern facilities are set up for bread, cake and pastry training and show how advanced baking techniques can be achieved with the right machinery and operations management.

Mobile Bakery Schools:-

Our mobile bakery school delivers on-site training to audiences across the whole of Sudan, which benefits those who are unable to travel to our Resident Bakery School. In particular, the Mobile Bakery School allows us to train disadvantaged members of the population and can provide essential daily life and career skills to communities who need it most.

Recent training programmes:-

Port Sudan: Nutrition and home economics programme for 120 Sudanese housewives

Khartoum: Joint venture with the state prison authority to impart small business development and home economic skills to 476 female prisoners

Gazira University: Training programme for 160 participants at the College of Rural Development

Food Inspector & Analysis à الهيئة السودانية للمواصفات و المقاييس

Duties and Responsibilities
Food Inspector :
• Report daily on product quality (import and export) the raw material incoming from different station
• Take the samples in the laboratory test and analyze results
• Ensure plant complies with quality system such as ISO, HACCP and GMP
• Awarding the customers quality control certificate after ensure high consistent quality products are delivered.
Food Test :
• Efficiently carry out laboratory testing for incoming and finished products in conformance with written and established producers
• Report daily on product quality
• Retrieve samples, test and analyze results.
• Compile statistical data and write reports as necessary to summarize quality findings.
• Maintain specification manuals for all products produces
• Ensure plant complies with quality system such as ISO, HACCP and GMP
• Liaise with productions department to ensure high consistent quality products are delivered
