-looking at the suitability of new developments, like housing, power stations, wind farms or other large sites that may impact the environment;
-conducting field surveys and collecting data about levels of pollution or contamination on a site or area of concern;
-interpreting data, which can include using software modeling packages, and report writing;
-managing legislative issues for clients and maintaining an awareness of how legislation impacts projects;
-communicating with clients, regulators, and sub-contractors, e.g. analytical laboratories;
-undertaking field works to identify previous activities on the site and any contamination.
-pollution prediction using AERMOD US-EPA software, CALLPUFF, and ArcGIS.
-Health and Safty inspection (HSE), plan preparation, and evaluation.
- Quality Management System Consultancy.
1. Work closely with the air quality supervisor, to implement the goals, objectives and strategic plans for the Public Health Department in the Health Protection, mainly on Air Quality (AQ) related to public health;
2. Provide support in ensuring the WHO standards in air quality guidelines;
3. Responsible for providing the unit with the best and suitable equipment to implement the monitoring program;
4. Responsible for the designing of the ambient and indoor air quality monitoring plans;
5. Provide support and coordination with other institutes such as Ministry of Environment in AQ programs;
6. Participate and support in monitoring the AQ and practices through field measurements with AQ technologists;
7. Supervise the data collection, measurements, databases, and review monthly and annual AQ statistics. Responsible for the data analysis, evaluation, and reporting;
8. Responsible for calibrating the equipment and keeping the maintenance schedules;
9. Provide training to his staff on the monitoring equipment;
10. Participate in the selection, training, and evaluation of AQ technologists;
11. Ability to handle and apply air-modeling software;
12. Ability to prepare research and studies to assess the risk of exposure to air pollution and to determine the burden on health;
13. To install, calibrate, and process the data from testing instrumentation and equipment and evaluate public health risks;
14. Responsible to prepare reports, budget, and oversee the use of inventory and maintenance of equipment;
16. Monitor and interpret changes in regulations related to the air quality program;
Conduct simulation and draw conclusions based on equations that have been processed.
Analysis of data, readings, and results.Training the staff of the Authority on the topics of modeling environmental pollutants.
Air pollution and Environmental Monitoring.
Knowledge of US-EPA and EU regulations and standards and safety and environment
Knowledge of US-EPA stack testing methods and fugitive emission tests
Experience with EIRMOD and CALPUFF air dispersion models is beneficial
Knowledge of US-EPA groundwater protection standards and experience with groundwater remediation
Carry out the induction training of all staff to ensure that they are fully aware of health, safety and hygiene rules and regulations before commencing work.
2. Oversee the running of the site laundry and aintain stocks of overalls and protective clothing.
3. Negotiate contracts with external suppliers for the supply of personal protective equipment and ensure that stocks are maintained at appropriate levels.
4. Oversee all site cleaning to ensure that this is in accordance with the specified standards.
5. Carry out a regular internal audit across all parts of the site and across all shift patterns to ensure that health, safety and hygiene standards are applied, recommend any required changes and review results to ensure that recommendations are implemented.
