WORKED WITH KUWAIT TRANSCONTINENTAL SHIPPING (KTS) COMPANY AGENTS FOR APL AS SALES EXECUTIVE SINCE OCT 2012 TILL SEPT 2014:
KTS is a shipping and logistical firm based in Kuwait. Having variety of services to cater to customer needs such as containerised business through agency for lines such as APL and Bay line, break-bulk, auto liner, oil tanker services, special equipment service, and freight forwarding:
My duties involve:
Tele calling prospects/customers and fixing appointment for business meeting in order to know the current trend in customer’s business.
Presenting the company’s services.
Cross selling KTS services.
Generating business lead and converting it into a confirmed business.
Sending email quotations to the customers.
Corresponding with APL pricing for negotiating the rates required by the customer.
Corresponding with the POL for cargo bookings.
Keeping track of the bookings confirmed.
Sending sales lead to the counter parts at different origins for business development.
Presenting weekly business reports to regional manager.
Handling walk-in customers.
Taking care of the demurrage issues and solving them with required approvals from APL pricing.
Propose quarterly minimum rate guideline for export under assistance of sales manager to APL pricing.
Keeping track of the inbound as well as outbound volume in order to have a proper balance of both.
Updating KPI (key performance indicators) of APL sales in order to achieve set targets for new customer per month, tele-calling, business meetings, etc.
ACHIEVEMENTS:
Achieved a combined target of 150 FEU/month for export and import shipments.
Initiated shuwaikh-colombo export which was dormant for 1 year.
Increased number of shuwaikh-manila export customers thereby increasing weekly outbound FEUs.
Used tire scrap was under restricted goods on APL’s List. Set criteria for tire scrap export customers, took approval thereby from APL to start accepting used tire scrap and successfully exporting used tire scrap.
Consistently achieved monthly team target of 30 new sales lead to be sent to different origins.
2. WORKED WITH SHARAF SHIPPING AGENCY (SSA) AS SALES EXECUTIVE SINCE JANUARY 2012 TILL September 2012.
The company has one stop services hub such as shipping, freight forwarding, logistics, chartering and broking, etc. It is a multinational company headquartered in UAE.
My duties involved:
Selling shipping and logistical services of the company.
Performing mainly FCL Import and Export Functions.
Tele-marketing.
Targeting new customers.
Cold calling new customers.
Solving customer grievances relating to inbound/outbound shipments. Grievances such as freight charges, local charges, Demurrage charges, etc.
Acquiring sales lead from those importers importing on C&F terms and mailing the sales lead to the port of loading to route the shipments through company’s line.
Convincing the importers to book the shipments on FOB terms.
Providing quotations required by the customers for their shipments to be carried.
Selling additional services such as custom clearance & inland carriage.
Building business network and rapport for sustained business.
Corresponding with forwarding agents at the POL for purpose of competitive rates.
Monitoring vessel schedules and keeping all parties updated.
Present monthly sales report to the management.
Gather market information.
Improve brand/market awareness of TS Lines products and services.
Achievements:
• Successfully achieved target of meeting 10 customers daily.
• Accomplished target of sending 3 sales lead daily of new as well as existing customers.
