Presently serving as Assistant Manager (Technical) at GULF AGENCY COMPANY (GAC Marin Services (Pte)Ltd Sri Lanka (www.gac.com)and handling all technical matters/spares, monitoring and following up Planned Preventive Maintenance of ships’ machineries. Coordinating and arranging docking/slipping and emergency breakdowns of supply vessels/Tugs belongs to the company. Forecasting major engine routines and ordering spares through foreign principles also a part of my duty. Further, assisting for surveyors for periodical surveys of vessels for class requirements.

Following are my duties and responsibilities of GAC Sri Lanka.
• Ensure planned/ preventive maintenance of all vessels are carried out timely.
• Supervision and arrange of major repairs, overhauls, routine under water maintenance and all steel fabrications.
• Coordinate with Colombo Dockyard and Sri Lanka Ports Authority for slipping/Docking of GAC vessels and chain/wire sling calibration and Bollard pull tests (AHT and Salvage requirement)
• Inspection & maintain, records of all vessel maintenance conducted in Main Engine, Gear box, Generators, steering system, pumps, hull & miscellaneous.
• Monitoring & Scrutinizing of all requisitions raised by vessels prior to Director’s approval.
• Procurement of spares from Foreign principles other than local agent in order to get the maximum cost benefit to the company and maintain minimum stocks for vessels maintenance.
• Preparing of Budget/ cost estimations for annual docking /planned maintenance of all vessels.
• Monitoring and control spares usage and owner of “GAC vessel management “ system.(GAC Sri Lanka)
• Receiving & analyzing of monthly documents (ISM) from the vessels.
• Preparing of monthly vessel fuel consumption, maintenance & operating data report.
• Monitor/ arrange /maintain records of bunkers, lubricants and fresh water supplies to GAC vessels.
• Liaison with Harbour master/fire department & arrange Hot work permission for vessel welding work at Colomo Harbour.
• Plan & carryout re-fit & re-engine projects as required by the senior management.
• Locating & selecting of engineering Spares, Machinery and equipment from local the market.
• Inspect and prepare vessels for class requirements in Annual and special surveys .Accompany ship Surveyors to Galle, Trincomalle & Hambathota harbours for Annually and Periodically surveys .
• Inspection of other outside ships and craft as directed by the Company Director.
• Supervising of Machining/fabrication work given to outside workshops.
• Visiting of vessels for inspections at regular intervals and Monitoring of daily vessel state.
