for the Enko Africa Private Equity Fund’s fund manager ECM, I sourced, assessed and evaluated and completed investments into and exits out of our portfolio companies on behalf of the fund. Responsibilities included:
•financial/tax due diligence, advanced financial modelling;

•deal structuring, compilation of LOIs, term sheets, deal documentation and investment committee papers

•review of legal documentation, third-party contracts, SPAs and drafting of warranties/indemnities

•ongoing monitoring/supervision/management of portfolio companies and investor reporting

•mentoring and supervising junior associates and analysts

•back-office support; capital calls, LP account queries and investor relations and reporting

•major deals include: EAPEF $6m investment in Law Union Rock Insurance of Nigeria, EAPEF’s $7.5m investment into AMI Logistics, Dubai. EAPEF’s $8m investment into leading Nigerian mortgage provider IHMB. EAPEF’s exit from its $7m investment into Madison Financial Services, Zambia.

•I went to Zimbabwe to formally advise my father’s investment vehicle the Steve Kuipa Family Trust, as well as management of Schweppes Zimbabwe Ltd on their proposed partial sale of their stake in Schweppes Beverages Zimbabwe to a fund managed by Investec Asset Management, a South African private equity investment manager.

undertook a year-long secondment working as a valuations analyst, valuation techniques included discounted cash-flow and comparable valuation methods. Furthered exposure to financial statement analysis and modelling of historic and forecast financial data.

decided on resource allocation and managed small teams of associates for client year-end audit compliance and financial reporting purposes, which went towards my training requirements for audit certification and qualification under my training contract.

Property; I have an interest in property construction, renovation and management and in 2015 I completed a three unit 1&2 bedroom complex for letting purposes as a personal project in Zimbabwe.
