• Responsible for Telecommunication, TETRA and Security System Projects as well as maintenance in Qatar Petroleum (its subsidiaries), Ministry of Interior, Government and private sectors.
• Plans and supervise the routine/planning of maintenance activities, tests and modifications for various telecom systems. Performs hand-held radio and mobile phone bench repairs down to component replacement and soldering. Maintenance report & documentation.
• Certified Level 1, 2 and 3 Nokia Repair and fault diagnosis technician. Parts of the responsibilities are: Update and upgrade mobile phone, Tetra radio software.
• Prepares a comprehensive plan for implementing End-to-End IT & Telecom infrastructure projects. And provides Preventive Maintenance and Technical support for On-Site monitoring.
• Develop engineering documents (Method statements, calculations, etc) and drawings of various Telecommunication projects. Assures all site documentations are up to date and contributes to set technical stands to improve repairs, maintenance and system reliability.
• Performs Installation, configuration and maintenance of WiMAX technology.
• Performs field testing at main distribution frame and branch exchange of Qatar Telecom (POTS verification and ADSL qualification).
• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems.
• Conducts training to all department users and maintenance team.
• Leads the Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Zetron DCS Telecom Dispatcher (Wired and wireless). Interface with existing and new Telecom equipment.
• Involved in installation and maintenance of CAMS (Centralized Alarm Monitoring System), a project in the Ministry of Interior, partnered with Bosch, Spectator and other security system providers.
• Successfully managed the TETRA Radio System, Base Stations and a large number of fixed / handheld radios and their spare parts maintenance and management.
• In a clean-room, dust-free laboratory, carry out a mobile phone, Tetra radio and other telecom equipment and device repairs and exchange of mechanical and complicated IC’s (Integrated Circuits) electromechanical defects or parts down to component level including soldering, de-soldering, logical fault finding, measurements and Rx and Tx calibration tunings. Following proper procedures and instructions and diagrams. Utilize prints, schematics, service manuals, and test equipment to analyze problems.
• Extensive usage of various types of bench test equipment from basic voltage, current and component testers to power supplies, probes, RF signal generators and Analyzers. Experienced user of Fiber optics Fusion splicer, OTDR, CCTV and Video equipment and a variety of telecommunication and network equipment.
• Skilled user of surface mount servicing tools such as tweezers, flux, solder wick, soldering (de-soldering) iron, hot air and other electronic repair activities.
• Travels to the site frequently. Performs installation, maintenance and repair activities.
