Responsibilities as General Manager of Fiscal & Economic Statistics Center (Acting):
• Liaise with MFPD and senior internal and external stakeholders of the Ministry to understand and align on FESC priorities including reporting, modelling, and international standards data needs.
• Coordinate with different MoF relevant deputyships to implement effective data flow and necessary system integration across the Ministry related to FESC, MFPD, wider MoF and its stakeholders’ needs.
• Ensure effective activation of FESC role within the wider government statistics ecosystem by coordinating with relevant external entities (i.e. GASTAT, SAMA, MEP).
• Member of diverse committees like Executive Committee of Balance of Payment Enhancement and Economic Diversification, Executive Committee of Data Track & Media Committee for Budget announcement.
• Oversee and direct the creation and development of necessary processes, reports and systems in FESC.
• Manage and oversee FESC engagement with internal and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of requests
Responsibilities as Head of Debt & Finance Unit (Macro-Fiscal Policies Unit):
• Coordinated and participated in preparing the fiscal and macroeconomic forecast in the medium term; worked on macroeconomic indicators and budget fiscal framework.
• Monitored the performance of public finances, compared with actual performance and forecast, and identified deviations and their causes.
• Assisted in designing and implementing Saudi macroeconomic policies, especially fiscal and debt policies.
• Participated in MOF discussions with international organizations/investors, represented MOF in several committees, meetings and forums, and provided advice to the Minister and other senior MOF officials.
• Set fiscal & debt targets over the medium-term, prepare the annual budget, monitor budget implementation, manage fiscal risks, and oversee debt strategy and related policies.
• Conducted fiscal and debt sustainability analysis to identify potential problems and risks; supervised analytical research notes and policy papers focusing on fiscal and debt issues, monetary policy and the external sector.
Responsibilities as Economic Consultant (Macro-Fiscal Policies Unit):
• Worked on macroeconomic indicators and budget fiscal framework; carried out technical analysis related to revenues, expenditures, financing, and prepared reports and related studies.
• Collected and processed economic and statistical data using sampling techniques and econometric methods.
• Conducted research, disseminated research findings and formulated recommendations, policies, or plans to address economic problems related to monetary and fiscal policy or to interpret markets.
• Studied and analyzed the socioeconomic impacts of new public policies, such as proposed legislation, taxes, services, and regulations.
• Developed economic guidelines and standards, and prepared points of view used in forecasting trends and formulating economic policy.
