Working as Assistant Production Manager in Omore’ Ice Crean Business of Engro Foods, a Subsidiary of Engro Corp, with more than 1300 employees, and PKR 40 billion revenue company for the year 2012, the biggest and fastest growing conglomerates in Pakistan with a vision to cater to local needs with products conforming to global standards. Major responsibilities includes following:
• Splitting weekly production plan in daily plan for arrangement and issuance of materials for production lines keeping spare time for maintenance of production lines in pro-active manner.
• Supervising and managing other supporting functions during the shift i.e. power, utilities, process plant etc. for smooth and efficient production results.
• Manpower arrangements according to production lines change over, accommodate changes in production plans and monitoring labor cost KPI to be in limit against per liter ice cream produced.
• Carrying out trainings and sessions regarding Safety, Quality and Manufacturing Hygiene on the basis of weekly and monthly KPI reports as well as implementation of TPM on production floor.
• Arrangement of mechanical and instrumentation team to neutralize breakdown in minimum lowest time. Coordinate with equipment and process teams and ensure compliance to all protocols and maintain product quality.
• Keeping team motivated and accelerating by celebrating achievements and on launch of new innovations.
• Calculation of raw and packaging material losses and their neutralization via focused improvement projects.
• Learnt about ice cream processing and production technology, the working of freezer, production machines working, speed calculations and performances and moulded and extruded technology for producing different ice cream SKUs.
• Maintaining records of all data attendance and provide effective training to all staff members.
• Preparing vacation schedule for all employees and ensure no effect to production.
• To manage and prioritize all production processes and implement all production plans. Ensuring compliance to all local and company’s policies to achieve all production objectives and provide appropriate feedback to all employees.
• To develop and maintain effective relations with all company employees at various levels of organization.
Worked as a Business Lead - Aftermarket Support (AMS), Karachi. AMS, an emerging concept in Services organization comprised on listening to customer problems and resolve them for developing new prospects for future business and taking ownership of client's control systems and installed base. Since 1984, Avanceon has been a leader in the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing technology solutions that result in reliable control automation and information management systems. Avanceon, a subsidiary of Engro Corp, specializes in the development of real-time performance management systems for the process and discrete manufacturing industries. Major responsibilities include:
• Managing AMS Karachi. (Leading business to achieve a revenue generation target of PKR. 50 Million with Gross Margin of 35%).
• Meeting clients to know about future business prospects and services and solutions they require.
• Suggesting upgrades to the clients regarding Honeywell and Rockwell.
• Locking with clients, orders of spares of control systems including controllers, communication cards, power supplies, battery extension modules, field instruments.
• Understanding problems which clients face while ongoing operations and provide them remote and onsite technical support by mobilizing engineering resources.
• Locking Engineer’s hours in MC and generation of WOs in GP.
• Suggesting and presenting SLAs to clients, and preparing maintenance contracts for client’s site.
• Preparing proposals of trainings for clients and conducting trainings on Allen Bradley and Honeywell control system solutions.
Worked as Supply Chain Trainee under Unilever Supply Chain Trainee Program. During this period learnt about the dynamics of the organization along with routine jobs. Received trainings about Ice Cream mix processing and production, with compliance to company's safety, quality, and food safety policy. Major responsibilities were:
• Daily production planning with production department and planner and calculation of the balanced mix production plan for the entire day or three shifts operation.
• Planning and calculation of raw material for managing the continuous ice cream mix production, material management for final product, stock check of material and rework.
• Arrangement of manpower for performing different jobs of plants batch dosing, rework dosing, material shifting, chocolate filling, and housekeeping along with maintenance activities.
• Managing time for planning maintenance of plant equipment i.e. valves, pumps, pasteurizers, heat exchangers, homogenizers, CIP and mix transferring routes.
• Managing and ensuring hygienic conditions for ice cream mix processing plant.
• Managing, performing and implementing TPM in Mix processing plant.
• Conducting training sessions of workers on safety, environment and quality standards.
• Looking a close eye on a variance on daily basis and keeping the raw material consumption as per standards.
• Training of teams on quality, safety and plant hygienic conditions, getting feedback and raising projects for system improvement.
• Reporting to operations manager regarding plant and team performance and analyzing the lack of abilities and arranging a training session.
Accomplished my Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering from University of the Punjab. Major subjects and courses I completed were Heat and Mass Transfer Operations, Fluid and particle Mechanics, Instrumentation and Process Control, and HSE. Completed my Internship successfully from Packages Ltd. and FMC (Pvt.) Ltd.
