Senior Manager of Structural Engineering
Qatar Rail
Total years of experience :31 years, 4 Months
Managed all interfaces between Engineering / Maintenance and Program / Operation Departments as well as the Ministry of Infrastructure during the Project Design and Implementation Phases, by coordinating the technical management teams.
Recruited a team of 4 Structural Engineers who played an instrumental role in awarding the company with the recognition for the Guiness World of Records in 2015 for simultaneously operating 21 tunnel boring machines (TBMs).
Selected the technical team to construct 30+ storey buildings at 18 stations after carefull technical evaluation of contractor bids.
Maintained close collaboration with architectural offices and mechanical engineering teams as the key liaison.
Reviewed structural designs and architectural blueprints. Monitored and tracked the supplemental reviews submitted internally to the technical department of civil design of the D&B Contractor.
Analysed and evaluated structures and conducted seismic analysis of concrete providing ad hoc solutions to ensure problem resolution and definition of technical specifications.
Provided advice on procedures requirements for identifying, documenting and managing the detailed engineering, construction and commissioning interfaces.
Participated in approval process for construction permits (internal & external).
Qatar Rail is currently leading one of the largest rail projects in the world, with the aim to construct a new rail network that is environmentally friendly and technologically advanced, and that will meet the demands of the rapidly expanding population of Qatar.
