The refinery has no Reliability and Integrity systems.
My objective was to implement RBI, RCM CMMS. Unfortunately I have to leave due to un expected condition.
Work as a consultant to BOTAŞ (Turkish Oil and Gas Pipelines Corporation) on the construction of Tuz Golu ($1.2 B)
Underground Gas Storage Expansion Plant Project which has a scope of:
● 48 caverns (including 8 spares with 5 billion Nm3 storage capacity.
● 1 Surface Facility, Leaching Process, Compressor Building, etc.
● 1 Natural Gas Branch Line of 24”, 21 Km.
● 1 Fresh Water Line from Dam 53”-56”, total length 130 Km.
● 1 GRP discharge line 56”, 28 Km.
● Connecting lines between caverns,
● 4 Pump Stations, 4 Water Storage Tank Facilities
ROLE:
● Project Engineering and Design Document approval, review, and consulting to owner.
● EPC Plan and Procedure approval, review.
● Review and approve (sometimes pioneer for preparation of documents, giving clear vision about QA/QC, ISO 9000 and monograms that Vendors shall supply) Quality Documents (QA/QC) of EPC,
● Review and Approval of Subcontractor and Vendors,
● Site Inspection of Mechanical, Piping and Construction,
● Training the employer maintenance team on Operational Excellence
Work as a Piping Project Manager to ERDEMIR (Eregli Steel Production Plants) on the Construction of CGL#2 Plant which has a total amount of 105 m $.
● Reviewing and approving all HSE documentation to ensure a safe workplace and safe system of work.
● Founding the organization of site team and ensure recruitment process accordingly to increase safety,
efficiency, quality, speed and profitability.
● Championing HSE and Quality on The Project Site.
● Creating path of Quality (planning, QA/QC, fabrication & erection).
● Preparing Strategic Planning.
● Ensuring the implementation of site execution charts. Weldlog, weldmap etc.
● Ensuring weekly Schedules contribute to main program.
● Creating new and efficient KPI’s (Key Performance indicator) on Safety, Quality, Production, etc.
Managing construction of natural gas intercity distribution pipeline for BOTAS which was 40” 185 km and 12” 30 km.
● Reviewing and preparing for approval all HSE documentation to ensure a safe workplace and safe system of work.
● Promoting HSE and Quality on site.
● Implementing path of Quality (planning, QA/QC, fabrication & erection).
● Preparing construction and implementation plans in line with strategic planning.
● Implementing site execution charts. Weldlog, weldbook, etc.
● Preparing and executing weekly Schedules that contribute to main program.
● Assist with ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive company-wide Strategic
Reliability Plan
● Ensuring the implementation of RCM contribute to Reliability KPIs (MTBF etc.).
● Ensuring the implementation of RBI contribute to Availability KPIs (No. of Leaks, Unplanned Shutdowns, etc.).
● Ensuring the implementation of RCA (Fault Tree, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc, ) contribute to reduce the number of defects.
● Manage and maintain all equipment Master Data for the refinery, work centers, and Maintenance Work Shops
● Interface with Engineers, Planners, and Supply Chain to ensure accuracy of data and proper requesting procedures are being followed
● Develop, facilitate and maintain the equipment criticality and strategy processes
● Help support asset strategies by optimizing equipment Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive
Maintenance (PdM) programs for Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability
● Assist Reliability Engineers in developing equipment strategies that meet equipment availability targets and Operations budget and production needs
● Ensure all discipline Reliability Engineers have a common work process for developing and managing the equipment and maintenance strategies
● Investigate equipment failures and efficiencies.
● Gather data from Operations and Maintenance personnel, vendors and manufacturers to determine
resolutions for reliability improvements
● Communicate technical issues ensuring the organization can fully understand the issue and make informed and intelligent decisions
● Champion Work Management Process (Work Identification, Planning, Scheduling, Execution and Control, and Analysis and Improvement.)
● Coach and mentor facilities on work management process, applicable roles and responsibilities
● Lead and promote audits of the company’s Reliability process, and provide feedback and support to plant level personnel for improving the process while maintaining consistency throughout the corporation
● Leads, develops, and manages Reliability KPI’s (scorecards) to measure the effectiveness of our systems
and ensure alignment with process strategy
● Proactive: Ongoing management and development of systems which ensure lessons learned.
● Translate DVP&R (Design Verification Plan and Report) and Reliability Growth Test results into meaningful information such as MTBF to enable project / platform / senior leaders to make decisions on the maturity / production readiness
● Design and manage condition-based maintenance (CBM) program
While working with Shell Global Solutions on Operational Excellence Program I was:
• Focal Point of Reliability,
• Admin of RBI implementation and Software,
• Admin of RCM,
• Trainer of RCA, RBI, and Proactive Maintenance,
• Facilitator of RCA and Corrosion Loop Workshops.
● Assist with ongoing development and implementation of a comprehensive Refinery-wide Strategic
Reliability Plan
● Implementation of RCM contribute to Reliability KPIs (MTBF etc.).
● Implementation of RBI contribute to Availability KPIs (No. of Leaks, Unplanned Shutdowns etc.).
● Implementation of RCA contribute to reduce the number of defects.
● Identify the system of continuous improvement to ensure resolution to chronic “bad actor” equipment
● Work closely with the maintenance planners on the creation of equipment repair best practices
● Investigate new technologies for reliability improvements
● Analyze significant failures to determine the root cause and generates root cause reports
● Ensure equipment history is maintained and analyzed for future trends
● Hands-on experience in heavy industrial settings
● Supervisor/leadership experience in a maintenance or reliability department
● Evaluate, prioritize, and implement asset improvement initiatives to improve performance
● Work with Reliability Engineers in developing equipment strategies that meet equipment availability targets
and Operations budget and production needs
● Attend the investigation of equipment failures and efficiencies.
● Provide data to Reliability manager to determine resolutions for reliability improvements
● Participate in implementation of new projects, facility modification and comment on the concept design
phase through the detailed design phase including design review to fabrication and installation of the
facilities as well as start-up of the new installation/facilities
● Ensure timely documents review and commenting to Engineering and Projects department on new facilities when requested
● Support the department in reaching Maintenance excellence by aligning with corporate standards and
international best practice
● Ensure inputs for shut down planning activities are timely and proactively provided within areas of
responsibilities
● Ensure maintenance activities are proactively coordinated including contractor & vendor management
within areas of responsibilities
● Participate in acceptance test of new facilities when requested
● Define, maintain, and drive the preventive maintenance program.
● Operation of the computerized Energy Management System (EMS) where it applies to the temperature
control of mechanical equipment and systems
● Generally, assist the maintenance manager in the day-to-day operation of the maintenance department
● Develop and implement progressive planned & predictive LEAN maintenance systems
● Provide technical support to the Maintenance Supervisor, specialists, and craftsmen on challenging
equipment repair issues
● Participate in technical investigations, studies, problem review and provide sound engineering evaluations and recommendations for proposed action
● Provide leadership and coordination of planned maintenance shutdowns
● Prepare work schedules, assign work, and oversees the work product (while minimizing overtime and calling hours)
