• Established Rate Contracts by identifying high spend categories, identifying new suppliers, negotiate with suppliers and establishing rate contracts with appropriate terms and conditions. Procurement and Supply Chain Management Consulting

• Developed a Strategic framework and performed a detailed comparative analysis for indirect procurement
for four Operating Companies in the Energy sector, enhanced controls of the ERP system, performed spend
analysis (of value USD 260 Million per annum) and cycle time analysis and consolidated services for potentially
converting repetitive Service Orders to blanket contracts
• Benchmarked and transformed the ‘Procure-to-Pay’ process (process excellence) for an EPC Contractor and
one of the logistics provider for Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) spares by establishing blanket
purchase agreements for high value frequently utilized items and services
Reviewed tender documents of various vendors for Balance of Plant (BOP) package for selection of the EPC
contractors and vendors. Evaluated the technical and commercial bids of lab equipment and had one on one
meetings with the suppliers for price negotiation and compliance to technical specifications
• Prepared site feasibility reports and detail project reports (DPR) for the project encompassing all the systems
including Boiler Turbine Generator (BTG) and BOP packages executed by EPC contractors
• Developed an optimized layout for coal handling and logistics and optimized coal inventory in the stockpile
thereby maintaining the working capital. Optimized inventory in the coal stockpile and ensured uninterrupted
supply of coal into the boiler bunker
• Reviewed Quality Assurance plans of all the major pieces of equipment used in the power plant
• Designed and prepared a layout with use of pipe conveyors for conveying coal to the power plant site from the
port instead of conventional railway siding system, thereby reducing the total cost (capital expenditure and
operating expenditure) by USD 1.5m
• Reduced the coal inventory from 45 days to 35 days, thereby reducing the size of the stockpile and improving
operational efficiency
• Achieved 12% reduction in cost for procuring chemical lab equipment by appropriate supplier selection and
disintermediating the suppliers, thereby making the procurement process lean
Product Design and Development
Domain :- Automotive
• Designed, developed and tested new starter motor to reduce costs for the passenger car. Bench marked
starter motor design and developed the same with desired performance for the passenger cars
• Worked on business excellence tools like DFMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, QFD etc. for enhanced product
design and development and reduced quality issues
• Implemented 5S in the R&D department and prepared documents for the Japanese Quality Medal (JQM)
award, the highest accolade for the quality of products
Professional Achievements
• Designed and developed six pole starter motor for the passenger car reducing the cost of the product by INR 55
per unit (USD 0.9 per unit)
• Developed a new Over Running Clutch with high strength cage material, thereby reducing defects and
rejections and maintaining it under 120 ppm
