for Nitrogen Cantarell project. 4 x GE frame 7 HRSG's. 4 x 54 MW ABB motor driven GHH BORSIG axial/radial air compressors 9.5 Bar, 475, 300Nm³. 4 steam turbines 511º C 163T/Hr. 70 Bar as prime movers for 4 x centrifugal/axial 6 stage nitrogen compressors rated at 121 Bar, 419, 484 Kg/Hr. The total flow at MCR, 1200 MMSCFD, is sent to the Cantarell offshore oil field for gas flood operations. Included all major process pipeline cleaning with 80 Bar compressed air. Steam lines flushed with 50 bar steam blows against burnished copper targets. The 100 kilometre undersea pipeline cleaned using pigs of different materials, finalizing by nitrogen blowing directly from the shore based compressors at 12 Bar through an open 42" pig receiver under arduous conditions. Installed deaerator internal equipment in 169m³ 6.9 Bar 185ºC vessel, commissioned let down stations natural gas lines and steam lines to the gas turbines and a large chlorine facility.
BOP 2x660 MW ABB coal fired units GE turbo-alternators. All aspects leading to completion and handover to the client. A plaque of recognition was presented for this project.
for all steam raising facilities in a large paper mill in Java. Plant included a frame 6 HD 36 MW 130 T/Hr. 209ºC HRSG and 2x 35T/Hr. directly fired boilers. Responsibilities included training, SOP's Safety procedures, stores and maintenance control. Proposed mill expansion new water treatment plant and welfare of the workforce.
for frame 6HD HRSG. All aspects of O&M at Fajar Surya Wisesa. Introduced a permit to work system OJT and classroom education. Production of technical reports and modifications where necessary. Supervised the expansion of the plant with respect to new fuel gas lines and water treatment facilities. Refined the water treatment plant to higher specifications and introduced safe working practices. This resulted in a high level of customer confidence.
for frame 6 GE simple cycle units. Warranty runs at four sites within the UAE. Training of multi-national workforce and retained as trouble shooter during and after the warranty periods as resident engineer.

Commissioning engineer for 2 x 65MW 90 bar 530ºC Stein Industrie PF fired boilers. Steam blowing safety valve setting, acceptance runs and OJT of the operational staff. Retained in a supervisory capacity during extended operational requirements.
for 2x 564 MW 179 Bar 541ºC tangentially fired PF boilers. Instrumentation by Bailey 90. Duties included installation and commissioning of all 650 HP Hayward Tyler boiler water circulating water pumps, preliminary testing, boiler cleaning, steam blowing, start up safety valve setting, reliability run and performance testing. Technical management provided to the client generated a high level of customer confidence resulting in this contract being completed three months ahead of schedule. A plaque of appreciation was presented in recognition of these services by the client.
to ABB specializing in the major rotating equipment of the Kennedy Van Saun milling equipment and the James Howden draught groups including the air heaters. Pre-commissioning of the boilers from erection through to final acceptance of the 6 x 702MW CCRR 179 Bar 586Kg/sec 541º C boilers. Instrumentation by BBT, main fuel PF and light up fuel by HFO.
Created the complete set of commissioning quality control procedures for this extensive project. The review was fully documented into the QA requirements of the project and has formed the basis of further projects within ABB.
As responsibilities changed, the construction of the final four air heaters (700 ton rotating elements) was finalized with a large multi-national workforce. This led to the specialization as a superintendent overseeing rotating equipment and root cause analysis of machinery failure. This also led to being retained as a technical advisor for all insurance claims, many of which were multi million dollar, with meetings at the highest level of management.
Pre-commissioning of 3 x 33MW PF fired Lenches Brown Boveri boilers and Parsons air cooled generators. Control by Hartmann and Brown. Originated this power station's SOP's and performance monitoring coupled with OJT of the Botswana staff. Extensive switching to 132KV.
returning to the North Sea, again becoming heavily involved with the comprehensive Permit to Work system, finalizing the gas compression and gas /water flood operations to 402 Bar.
4 x 150MW Stein Industrie multi fuel boilers. Pre-commissioning, acid clean, flushing, safety valve setting, steam blowing and acceptance runs to hand over. Retained in a supervisory capacity whilst the unit maintained load to the grid.
for all production facilities on the Brae Alpha platform from construction through to first oil. Gas scrubbing to remove H²S/CO². Gas compression to 402 Bar and water injection to the same pressure. Heavily involved in the Permit to Work system. Close co-operation between all stages of management ensured that no accidents occurred during commissioning despite extremes of contractual pressure and environment. This facility was the heaviest platform in the world producing 100, 000 bbls/oil/day, 20, 000bbls/day of LNG and 20MMSCFD gas. The remainder of gas was injected at 402 Bar for gas/water flood. Penetration took place at 19, 000 feet.
at remote oil field locations producing 40, 000 bbls/day HP water injection at 138 Bar with Solar gas turbines. Operation of 1000 bbl/day diesel fractionating unit with 50bbl/day jet fuel. Modification of plant where necessary and correction of P&ID's as built. Planning of the progress by critical path analysis ensured timely completion. Delays incurred were numerous, unexpected and unpredictable. Mechanical completion achieved in four months to MCR.

Subject matter expert visiting all power plants assessing project completion, delay and technical issues of contractual concern. Trouble shooting Frame 6 and LM 2500 sites during overhaul and commercial operation. Final inspection of the new refinery: 20, 000bbls/day of light fuel oil and proposed disposal of heavy fuel oil feed stock as primary fuel for the 1320MW thermal power plant of Mussaib.
