for Nitrogen Cantarell project. 4 x GE frame 7 HRSG's. 4 x 54 MW ABB motor driven GHH BORSIG axial/radial air compressors 9.5 Bar, 475, 300Nm³. 4 steam turbines 511º C 163T/Hr. 70 Bar as prime movers for 4 x centrifugal/axial 6 stage nitrogen compressors rated at 121 Bar, 419, 484 Kg/Hr. The total flow at MCR, 1200 MMSCFD, is sent to the Cantarell offshore oil field for gas flood operations. Included all major process pipeline cleaning with 80 Bar compressed air. Steam lines flushed with 50 bar steam blows against burnished copper targets. The 100 kilometre undersea pipeline cleaned using pigs of different materials, finalizing by nitrogen blowing directly from the shore based compressors at 12 Bar through an open 42" pig receiver under arduous conditions. Installed deaerator internal equipment in 169m³ 6.9 Bar 185ºC vessel, commissioned let down stations natural gas lines and steam lines to the gas turbines and a large chlorine facility.

Duties included installation and commissioning of all 650 HP Hayward Tyler boiler water circulating water pumps, preliminary testing, boiler cleaning, steam blowing, start up safety valve setting, reliability run and performance testing. Technical management provided to the client generated a high level of customer confidence resulting in this contract being completed three months ahead of schedule. A plaque of appreciation was presented in recognition of these services by the client.

to ABB specializing in the major rotating equipment of the Kennedy Van Saun milling equipment and the James Howden draught groups including the air heaters. Pre-commissioning of the boilers from erection through to final acceptance of the 6 x 702MW CCRR 179 Bar 586Kg/sec 541º C boilers. Instrumentation by BBT, main fuel PF and light up fuel by HFO.
Created the complete set of commissioning quality control procedures for this extensive project. The review was fully documented into the QA requirements of the project and has formed the basis of further projects within ABB.
As responsibilities changed, the construction of the final four air heaters (700 ton rotating elements) was finalized with a large multi-national workforce. This led to the specialization as a superintendent overseeing rotating equipment and root cause analysis of machinery failure. This also led to being retained as a technical advisor for all insurance claims, many of which were multi million dollar, with meetings at the highest level of management.

Penetration took place at 19, 000 feet.
