‐ Compose design briefs for all projects to be executed or managed by the Design Department.
‐ Compose and manage the 'Standard Scope of Works' that can be tailored for each types of design
project.
‐ Manages the setup of all design management systems and documents, ensures technical staff
are appointed and roles and responsibilities of each team member is well defined and reporting
lines and communications is established. Responsible for successful delivery of the project in
accordance with the scope of works from inception to final implementation including quality,
time, cost and technical alignment with client sectors and procedures.
‐ Manages the pre‐contract scope of consultancy services such as; design strategies, drawings, reports,
area schedules, authorities submission and approvals to ensure the deliverables match the company
visions and stakeholders requirement.
‐ Provides design update reports to the Senior Management team.
‐ Conduct and manage others to undertake value engineering of the developed design to ensure the total
cost effective designs.
‐ Assist in the development of benchmark standards and Guidelines in order to sustain quality and
innovation in the company design solution.
‐ Oversee the implementation of the design during the construction phase and to approve all materials,
samples, mock ups, shop drawings (as required) and other items (in accordance with the 'Review and
Approvals Procedure' document).
‐ Provides all necessary directions, observation reports and detailed sketches to consultants, contractors
and suppliers to ensure that the work at site follows the design intent and maintain the quality.
Job Role:
- Prepare a design management setup for projects.
- Manage and follow up the pre-contract phase and scope of services of all external design consultants such as; design strategies, drawings, reports, area schedules, authorities’ submission and approvals to ensure the deliverables match the company visions and stakeholders requirement.
- Manage all the design processes in relation to producing a set of drawings that required achieving the high performance of the project.
- Prepare and Lead a design programme, deliverables and regular design reports to the client.
- Ensuring the design process recognises current legislation, standards and codes of practice, where appropriate.
- Ensuring design information is of the right quality and keeps pace with project timescales.
- Striving to eliminate health and safety risks in the design and financial risks during construction.
- Conduct and manage others to undertake value engineering of the developed design to ensure the total cost effective designs.
- Oversee the implementation of the design during the construction phase.
- Managing approvals process with AoR consultant.
- Manage the project changes whether are a client or senior management requirement.
- Main consultant representative at all external technical meeting.
- Prepare base build drawings of a project and determine the building position.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure the project performance at high level and achieves the local regulation and international codes.
- Provide all necessary directions, observation reports and detailed sketches to sub-consultants, contractors and suppliers to ensure that the work at site follows the design intent and maintain the quality.
- Lead design programme, budget in conjunction with design management staff, programme and Procurement Department.
- Provide design reports to Group Chairman I Chief Projects Officer I Sr. Director

- Evaluate the tender submissions (technically) and provide the recommendation to the Meraas Executive staff setting out justification of why the consultant should be appointed for the project.
- Manage the pre-contract scope of services of all external design consultants appointed
by Meraas and to ensure the deliverables match the visions and aspirations set by the company.
- Safeguard the implementation of a design intent that has been approved by Meraas Executive Management, Stakeholders, Partners.
- Oversee the implementation of the design during the construction phase and to approve all materials, samples, mock ups, shop drawings (as required) and other items (in accordance with the 'Review and Approvals Procedure' document).
- Conduct and/ or manage others to undertake value engineering of the developed design to ensure the upmost cost effective designs.
- Ensure that the design process follows all of the approvals processes internally with stakeholders and provide all necessary directions to consultants, contractors and suppliers.
- Maintain the project quality by visit the site on weekly basis and submit to the lead consultant site observation reports accordingly.
A key member of the Architecture team and responsible for project management and delivery, business development, proposal submissions and pursuit of projects.

- Ensure projects are completed with high levels of technical competency. Ensure quality assurance mandates and processes occur.
- Review and be accountable for design and contract documentation.
- Lead teams to pursue highest level of design excellence throughout the delivery of projects.

- Team leader for shop drawings of Burj Dubai at level (1, 2, 3 & 4). Known as Burj Khalifa the structure.
- Monitor design process from conception to construction administration to ensure consistency of design idea.

- Monitor preparation of technical drawings of less senior architects.
- Ensure compliance of construction detail documentation to quality control and best practices.

- Assists in compiling data for architectural plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, etc.
- Assists in preparation of scale drawing of details required for contract drawing.

- Assists in preparation of layout and draws preliminary sketch of project to present to client.
- Assists in developing and/or coordinating development of detailed working drawings and specifications after approval for project has been obtained.
- Assists with coordinating bid process.
- Reviews shop drawings, specifications, cost estimates and construction material recommendations submitted by outside architects and contractors to ensure adherence to contract and notifies Architect of discrepancies.
