my duties within the companies are listed in the following points:
1- Writing the design basis for different Offshore Wind Parks projects
2- Designing Foundation structures for Offshore Sub stations
3- Clustering plan and foundation design for offshore wind turbines
4- Grouted connection design and offshore grouting operations
5- Detailed FE-Analysis of grouted joints, lifting points, temporary phases and Fatigue limit state
6- Simulation of offshore sub structures with different programs
7- Verification management of ULS / FLS / SLS / ALS
8- Managing the Project plans, Mile stones and claim management
9- programming company intern structural modelling and assessments softwares for the foundation designs.
10- Sea fastening design and analysis
11- tower design for the offshore wind generators.
12- Detail design of offshore sub stations
13- Managing the document submission schedule for multi project management.
Starting March of 2013 I was assigned as head of the structural department in the company's two locations (Bremerhaven/Berlin). my objectives as head of department are listed below:
1-Multi-project management and recourse planing
2-Quality management of work flow and documents
3-Certification management of various projects and project types
4-Information flow management between the different departments
5-Coaching and teaching
6-Developing and controlling company’s native softwares
7-Development and progress reporting
8-Budget pricing and issuing of quotations
9-Identifying needed recourses and assigning individual responsibilities
also starting August 2012 I was assigned as Project manager to an offshore wind park within the German North Sea. my scope is as follows:
- Interface information flow between different project’s participants
- Issuing and controlling of design specifications
- Managing subcontractors for civil, electrical and mechanical work packages
- Controlling of design briefs, reports and drawings
- Communication management between client, designer and certifier
- Project progress controlling, Recourse planing, time planing and quality assurance
- Tender processing and acquisitions
- Liaison with costumers to identify actual needs and requirements, implementing corresponding design packages
- Managing project budget and creating project break-down structure
- Coordinating with different departments and subcontractors to achieve goals and quality standards
- Data safety management
- Claim and change management
As a Research Assistant for the development and research of Ultra High Performance concrete (UHPC )my duties were:
1- Developing Excel sheets to calculate certain aspects of the Ultra high performance concrete (UHPC)
2- Building the framework and working in the concrete lab to make and develop the test subjects.
3- Working in the lab of structural engineering to test the subjects and reporting the vlaues and test results for the department and its engineers.
As an Intern for ADWEA, I was given the duties to work as an owner's representative in its project in Fujeirah. The Project was the construction of 30 villas in fujeirah as replacement homes for residents affected by the development of the harbor in fujeirah. In the Internship I was responsible for: 1-delivering the villas to its owners, 2- List of claims from the owner to the contractor. 3- Answering to the claims given to me by the contractor. 4- Reporting the the project engineer in ADWEA. 5- controlling the development of the site to ensure the delivery in the right time.
I had the responsibility to build E-Learning units in the online platform (moodle) of the Kassel University. These units were made with Adobe Flash. those E-Learning units contained some of the basics and comlex statics theories and strategies.
I was a statics Tutor for the department of Civil Engineering in the University of Kassel, Germany. my duties were among others:
Teaching a class for 2 university hours a week, in which students have to solve problems in Statics with my guidance and Support.
Answering questions and problems from the students submitted on the online portal.
supporting the teaching staff of the structural engineering in the department of civil engineering.
As a Tutor for construction management in the university of kassel, my duties and obligations were:
1-Building the semester based project for the students and solving it as well. the semester based project was to calculate the materials for a 9 stories building, designing the construction site and doing a time plan for the project after calculating the available resources such as machines, humans and financials.
2-Correcting the project for the students and giving feedbacks for both the faculty and the students.
An intern on a construction site in sharjah, the internship was for two months in order to gain university credits from the university of Kassel, Germany.
In this time the site was still in the foundation phase. So I've learned about pile foundation in the sandy environment of the UAE.
I finished my masters program within 3 semesters. I majored in Structural Engineering with a lot of courses in water supply management and Project management. during my studies in Germany I had a scholarship from Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) to study civil Engineering in Germany. my Master thesis was on the failure mode and effect analysis of civil structures and buildings. a method that is highly use din the mechanical engineering world but was still not being used in civil engineering. My thesis among other Publications set the mile stone for FMEA to be used in Civil engineering.
I finished my studies with 210 university credits in 7 semesters. The language of study is German. during this time i had a Scholarship from Abu Dhabi Water and electricity Authority (ADWEA) to study in Germany. After the 3rd Semester I obtained a letter of apreciation from the University for the high GPA and for finishing 90 university credits in 3 semesters. According to this Letter I was freed from the Universities fees. Within my Bachlor studies, I finished various internships in the UAE and was working as a student in the Universiry of Kassel Laboratories and as a Tutor for statics, construction planing. I was also working on the vertual lab for statics developed in the Civil engineering department of the university.
The Studienkolleg is equivalent to the first university year in the American System. in it students study physics, chemistry, German, Math and IT. It prepares foreign students for the studies in a German university.
