As Officer in charge of WFP Sukkur Sub Office in 2011-2013, Officer in charge of WFP Thatta Sub Office in 2014-15 and Lead Logistician I supported operation in capacity of head of sub office/ logistics . I supported provision of storage services to WFP and other humanitarian actors in the field and remained actively involved in logistics performance monitoring of cooperating partners working with United Nation World Food Programme.

• - Advance planning as per call forward, availability of requisite Food & NFI commodities, coordination with stockholders (i.e. port, warehouse, transporters etc.).
- Preparation of STO on daily basis for the dispatches of Food & Non Food Items in-time from warehouse for the implementation of FIFO methods, regular monitoring of expiry date / shelf life of commodities and to minimize WH losses, to the various destinations in Afghanistan.
- Ensure that WFP convoy move without cross border hurdles between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
- Close coordination with AFG logistics for raising of STOs according to the requests, Warehouses & Govt: authorities for the smooth movement of WFP Food and Non Food Item, as per Plan.
- Coordination for uninterrupted cross-border operation for Afghanistan, arranging Pakistan NOC exemptions & coordination with Afghanistan Logistics Team for commodity dispatched from Pakistan to Afghanistan.
- Maintain accuracy of stock status, commodity request status and commodity movement status reports on daily basis and timely coordination with pipeline, port authorities and WFP colleagues for expected/actual date of arrival of the commodities for further planning etc.
- To work in capacity of OIC Thatta to support overall WFP operation.
- Training staff members to follow SOPs by providing them on hand training to make them able to perform functions within working unit effectively.
- Regularly visiting store to ensure SOPs of storage, checking incoming and outgoing stocks and planning dispatch precedence.
- Assisting station in day to day operational support by suggesting and familiarizing them with ways to do the daily assignments.
- Implementing best accounting practices by available tools. Keeping management aware of transactions through standard reporting formats like DMR, ODB, NFI reports and on any other reporting formats.
- Supervising general service staff including warehouse, drivers and non-warehouse staff members in a cohesive team format to achieve set goals and milestones.

Deputy Provincial Logistics Cluster Coordinator/ Senior Logistics Assistant at United Nations World Food Programme

As a member of the Logistics Cluster team, I have supported provision of services (air delivery, Procurement, storage, coordination and information) to humanitarian organizations in Punjab in response to the flood emergency. As the deputy to the provincial Logistics Cluster coordinator, I supervised staff and assisted with cluster coordination. I served as OIC for the Logistics Cluster in Punjab during periods when the coordinator was absent. Most of my duties were similar to those of regular WFP Senior Logistics Assistants, including support to warehouse management, dispatches, record-keeping and other regular functions related to both food and NFIs.

My specific responsibilities included the following:
• Facilitated air cargo deliveries, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of relief cargo;
• Supervised three staff (a storekeeper and three tally clerks); ensured high staff performance standards and followed up on training of staff;
• Supervised provision of temporary warehousing ensuring proper maintenance and record-keeping;
• Regularly visited stores to ensure conformity with regulations for storage of food and non-food items;
• Assisted with coordination with WFP and Logistics Cluster participants (UN agencies, INGOs and NGOs).
• Liaised with private sector partners (such as TNT and Agility) to mobilize equipment and services (e.g. storage, trucks for shunting, etc) in support of humanitarian organizations;
• Maintained appropriate records of stocks, temporary storage requests, cargo movement requests, inventory and other documents, ensuring that proper paperwork was prepared for all receipts and dispatches;
• Drafted reports, updates, meeting minutes, lessons learned and other Logistics Cluster information management documents and provided input to regular WFP reports;
