Performance analyst is an area of sports and exercise science concern with actual sports performance rather than self-reports by athletes or laboratory experiments. The applied natures of performance analysis research is described and a justification for performance analysis as a research area is made. There is overlap between performance analysis and other disciplines being investigated within performance analysis investigations.
Performance Analyst in sports is the investigation of actual performance or performance in training. What distinguish performance analyst from other disciplines is that is concerned with actual sports performance rather than activity undertaken in laboratory settings or data gathered from self-report such as questions, focus groups, accounts and interviews.
