Control System Engineer (Siemens Automation Specialist) at Silvertech Middle East
  • United Arab Emirates - Dubai
  • June 2015 to October 2016

Key Projects to Credit:

Project: Fire and Gas System for the New Wellheads (PC-110, PC-055, ZA-100)
Client: ZADCO | Project Site: Upper Zakum, UAE (Offshore) | Process: Fire and Gas System | Control System: SIEMENS S7-400, STEP7, WinCC Flexible

• Description: The scope of the project required our team to supply 3 F&G panels for the wellheads, which were based on the Siemens control system. We were also requested to supply 3 door mounted HMIs, with the application of WinCC Flexible.

• Key Deliverables: Handled programming for the new F&G system to be deployed, developed smooth communication and flow between the Siemens F&G panel and Honeywell RTUs, through the Modbus RS-485 device. Coordinated with Honeywell team located in Abu Dhabi for the conductance of Factory Acceptance Test. Engineered PLC specifications, trained ZADCO employees in the system’s functioning, and documented the entire project for future references.

Project: UMM Lulu
Client: ZADCO | Project Site: Umm Al-Dalakh, UAE (Offshore) | Process: F&G, DCS, ESD | Control System: SIEMENS S7-400, PCS-7, STEP7

• Description: ZADCO was looking to expand the existing F&G, DCS, and ESD systems in place, and contracted us with the planning and implementation of the same. We were required to coordinate with third party equipment providers, deploy new systems, and train ZADCO employees during this phase.

• Key Deliverables: Logic Development of the existing F&G system expansion. Collaborated with various third party package providers over Modbus, and procured necessary services for the project. Lead and conducted the factory acceptance test, commissioned the site, provided trained support to the ZADCO employees, and documented the processes.

Client: ZADCO | Project Site: Umm Al-Dalakh, UAE (Offshore) | Process: Data Diode | Control System: FOX IT Data Diode, SQL Server, WinCC Explorer

• Description: The IT Security in the ZADCO network did not enable the firewall architecture to establish a secured connection between the offshore facility and company headquarters. We were required to design the database for the archive service at the offshore site in such a way that it connects to the headquarters with various levels of security.

• Key Deliverables: Wrote VBScript commands for the UAD Archive Server, and collated the field running data of the site in a systematic SQL database. Established a Data Diode connection to the ZADCO headquarters and shared the SQL database over this secured line, and mapped it further in the ZADCO WinCC servers. Handled the configuration of real-time data reporting and monitoring system for UAD in ZADCO HQ and web access for WinCC servers.

Development Field Service Engineer at Silvertech ME FZCO
  • United Arab Emirates - Dubai
  • June 2012 to June 2015

Key Projects to Credit:

Project: Installation of Electrical Supmersable Pumps in Wellhead-7 and Wellhead-15
Client: ZADCO | Project Site: Umm Al-Dalakh (Offshore) | Process: Fire & Gas, ESD, DCS | Control System: Siemens PCS7 v7.1 SP4

• Description: The objective of the project was to design and implement end-to-end fire & gas system and ESD system for wellhead-07 and wellhead-15 at the project site, along with its integration with existing DCS system at the site. Other objectives included designing 5 panel doors using WinCC Flexible, updating graphics & alarms, installing flammable gas detectors, installing smoke detectors, and providing an explosion proof engineering station.

• Key Deliverables: Handled the programming end of applied logic for all input-output of ESD, F&G, and RTUs, for both the wellheads. Deployed S7-connections for the establishment and smooth functioning of communications between these systems and the main DCS system. Led the commissioning of the entire project, trained ZADCO operations and engineers with respect to site safety procedures and troubleshooting for various technical issues. Assisted the team in configuring safety alarms and faceplates in the DCS System.

Project: Satah Full Field Development
Client: ZADCO | Project Site: Satah, UAE (Offshore) | Process: F&G, RTU communication with Arzanah Island | Control System: SIEMENS S7-400, STEP7, WinCC Flexible

• Description: The project was critical due to various factors as it required re-programming of the existing F&G system so that new F&G devices can be included. It also required programming for the newly installed instruments, and updation of local HMIs across all wellheads, so that they are aligned with the new modifications in the system. And finally, it required the upgradation of RTUs from 300 series to 400 series.

• Key Deliverables: Re-programming process to strengthen the existing F&G system with the inclusion of new F&G devices. Major role in optimizing the running program for the system, along with the programming of new devices. Updated all local HMIs across the system’s wellheads, and configured the new modifications throughout. Ran the factory acceptance test to verify procedural compliances, and commissioned the project once everything seemed in order.
