  • Lebanon - Tripoli
  • My current job since October 2009

Technical Project Manger and Pre-sales Engineer:
- Leading of the team in charge of development and testing of microwave planning module in the Network Planning Tool (NPT) developed in Mobinets
- Specification of functionalities used in design and planning of microwave transmission links
- Writing of Functional Requirements Specification (FRS) documents for the functionalities to be integrated in the tool
- Following-up of development engineers and contribution in development (in Java) and code testing
- Writing of Validation and Acceptance Test Plans (VTP, ATP) documents
- Following-up of testing engineers in different phase of functionalities testing and contribution to the testing of the tool
- Collaboration with the IT/integration team to enhance the performance of the tool (connection to server and DB, multi-users ...)
- Studying and analysis of ITU recommendations related to microwave design and planning and integration of these recommendations in the tool (P.530, Planning objectives (G.821, G.26), frequency channel allocation, ...)
- Participation to technical meetings, and on-site support for Mobinets clients (Méditel-Maroc, Alpha-Lebanon, Mobily-KSA)
- Writing of documents (user guides, technical documents, response to RFQ) and preparation of presentation and trainings (internal and external for clients)
- Working on clients networks to design and optimise microwave transmission links
- Supervision of trainees (Master and engineering degrees)
- Consultant at Ericsson: participate with the transmission team of Ericsson in the project of swap to 3G of the ALFA network (Lebanese operator)

Telecom Consultant at Intercom Technologies
  • France
  • October 2008 to September 2009

Telecom consultant - Project in the technical department of SFR (French operator).
The aim of the mission is the global supervision of SFR microwave transmission links network and update of SFR tools that manage this network. The main responsibilities during this mission are the following:
- A deep study and understanding of microwave design and planning (radio equipments, frequency allocation, performance and availability of a microwave link, interference calculation, application of ITU recommendation)
- Planning microwave links using the planning tool (IQLink, the tool used at SFR)
- Study and analysis of special cases that present incoherence between simulation results and on-site measurements
- Global update and correction of SFR microwave links database (using specific SFR tools and referential)
- Global update of SFR radio equipments and antennas database and integration of new types of equipments (using new technologies like adaptive modulation)
- Coordination between the IT and technical department to fix bugs in the network database
- Study of application and integration of new ARCEP and ITU rules in SFR tools
- Coordination with Comsearch (the editor company of IQLink) for a migration for a new version of the tool
- Writing of a validation test plan (VTP) to test the new version
- Contribution to a project for EDF: study of the faisability of connecting EDF sites by microwave transmission links- Make a functional comparison between the tool used by SFR (IQLink) and Atoll microwave planning tool

R&D engineer at France Telecom
  • France
  • March 2007 to August 2008

- Launching and monitoring studies of the time reversal technique, and application to Indoor wireless communications domain
- A theoretical study of the technique and the advantage in comparison with other techniques of optimisation and reduction of interference effects due to multipath
- Development of a simulator that model an Indoor communication and application of the time reversal technique and analysis of results
- Development a platform of measurements for testing and evaluating the impact of this technique in a reverberant chamber and in an Indoor environment. Platform is developed using UWB antennas (MIMO architecture), digital modulation (NQAM), measurement tools (network analyser, oscilloscope), and software analysis via Labview.
- Deep results analysis to deduce on the efficiency of the method
- Contribution to other tasks like measurements of specific absorption rate (SAR), modelling of antennas (SEMCAD)

PhD student at University Pierre et Marie Curie - Paris VI
  • France
  • October 2003 to February 2007

Researcher at Electromagnetic Department/ Laboratory of Signals and Systems at Supélec - France for preparation of PhD.
- Under an international collaboration and project between Supélec and ONERA (Office Nationale des Etudes et Recherches Aérospatiales) from France, and NUS (National University of Singapore) and DSTA (Defence Science and Technology Agency) from Singapore
- Study and development of a model of electromagnetic propagation in complex media. The model is based on a realistic and deterministic method to consider effects multipath in the medium in.
- Application to propagation in forest media
- Development of a simulator under Fortran and C++
- Study and development of a model for detection and localisation of targets in the medium using a method based on the time-reversal technique
- Analysis of simulation results and comparison with real measurements
- Development and monitoring a platform for measurements in anechoic chamber
- Participation of meetings/presentations with French and Singaporean collaborators
- Supervision of two trainees (engineering and master)
