□ Reviewing scope of services for the Operations and Maintenance contract, guiding the bid evaluation and recommending contract awards.

□ Monitoring at executive level the MOM Contracts performance to ensure that the airport buildings, facilities, systems, subsystems, equipment and tools to be maintained for a long life; and with minimum cost.

□ Coordination and control of all maintenance, utilities and engineering activities to ensure quality of maintenance standards at International Airports.


□ Develops and assist the Director General in administering maintenance budget and monitors airport expenditures.

DURING PRE-OPERATIONAL PHASE AT
KING FAHD INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KFIA)
From June 1998 to November 1999,

□ Operational Readiness Committee, chaired by H.E. Dr. Abdulrahman Ali Al-Khalaf, President, Presidency of Civil Aviation.
□ Executive Committee chaired by Engr. Mazen A. Al-Khashoggi, Director General, King Fahd International Airport.
□ Project Control Group
□ Start-up Management Group
□ Transition Management Group and
□ Pre-Operational Testing Groups

Have been involved with, but not limited to, the following tasks:
□ Planning and scheduling all tasks concerning with Airport Operational Testing.
□ Rehabilitation and restoration of all facilities and systems.
□ Advisor to all departments on the problems that are directly related to various stages of pre-operational testing of the airport.
□ Participating in progress review meetings with all outside Agencies, Airlines and all other Government Agencies.
□ Participating in advising on other activities related to final operational testing, dedication ceremony, transition of operation from Dhahran Airport to King Fahd International Airport, leading to a successful commercial opening of the Airport in 28th November 1999.
