Supervise work activities of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive rooms in hotels, hospitals, educational institutions, and similar establishments. Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment and take corrective action. May purchase housekeeping supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new employees, and recommend dismissals.
Supervises housekeeping staff as duties are being performed.
•Supervises the duties and tasks of laundry staff.
•Stocks and maintains supply rooms; orders supplies according to a budget.
•Receives, processes, and handles guest complaints in regard to housekeeping services.
•Ensures that rooms are kept clean and free from hazards.
•Ensures that all common areas are kept clean and free from hazards.
•Organizes all staff during the day and hosts daily meetings with housekeeping staff.
•Assists guests or patients with questions and basic requests.
•Provides a high level of customer service at all times; remains professional.
•Hires and fires housekeeping staff; trains new housekeepers after hire.
•Meets with company officials regularly in order to provide progress reports and address issues.
