I am taking care of Commercial and contractual issues of a portfolio of several contracts with a professional team.
Taking care of Contractual issues of the project
Prepare contracts (mostly FIDIC) agreement for Contractors, Consultants and Project Management companies after incorporating all technical and contractual issues agreed upon with tenderers/bidders during the tendering stag. Prepare feasibility reports. Review and analyse validity of contractual Payments, variations and claims (cost and time) and recommends appropriate action. Deal with payments for several completed and ongoing minor and major projects. Manage all commercial correspondence and contractual notices issued according to contract conditions. Follow-up proper close out of completed contracts with respect to the issuance of required completion certificates, release letters, return of performance bank guarantees, etc. Liaise with Procurement department for qualifying new contractors / suppliers. Review standard tender documents including standard forms of contracts for all types of works, building contractors, PM services and consultancy, in coordination with legal, audit and finance. Ensure feedback information related to tenderer performance during tendering stage and for building database
Working as Cost Control Manager, my responsibilities included setting up the cost management procedures in contractual frame work and implementation plan. Set up and operate systems to control cost within premises of contract clauses, by implementation of program of works and settling payments, variations and cost & time claims. With major change in scope of SE I was given task of managing tenders as tender manager for all its four entities. I remain responsible for management of assessment and evaluation of tender documents for new projects and finalization of final prices of different tender. Additional tasks as Internal Auditor and as member of technical committee are also being under taken by me.
ADIA- Phase-1: Project Coordinator/QS -Coordination of site activities of this High value, Low cast and fast track project. Commercial Coordination among Client, Co-Client (Duty Free and Catering), Government Departments and Sub-Contractors, Recording of contractor’s progress of site works, preparation of Weekly and Monthly reports etc. Checking and recommending the contractor’s (Tamani, Gartner, MCM and Grey) payments to the Client (DCA). Assessment and preparation of recommendations for Variation orders and Claims to the client
MOPA- QS -Estimated initial cost of the project and analyzed tender once submitted by the bidders, Dealt contractual matters with the Client (MOPA)
Responsibilities include setting up the contract management procedures and implementation plan. To set up and operate systems to manage and liaise with Client to deal with contractual implementations on program of works, work scope, cost and settle the payment for contract variations i.e. Extension of Time, Claims, Variation Orders. To prepare all documents for tendering new projects which include take off quantities from contract drawings, cost estimation of constructional works, cost analysis of sub contractor's quotations, bank bonds, material schedules, manpower reports and finally BOQ with proposed rates.

To check Interim and Final Payments submitted by Contractors, Estimates of additional works as per CESMM-3, Variation Orders and Claims as per FIDIC, Change Orders and daily check requests according to the contract drawings & x-sections, Bill of Quantities (B. O. Q.) and other contract conditions. To produce weekly and monthly progress reports and cash flow charts.
Along with QS responsibilities as stated in the above project, also performed duties of Assistant resident engineer which includes but not limited to supervision of site activities, meetings with co-clients, Contractor and sub-contractors, Progress push up, Site organization of consultant’s staff, coordination between different authorities involved at site.
