My main responsibilities include acquisition of live and recorded media via Satellite, Fiber and IP Technology. Manage the loading of multiple traffic strands on the ALaraby TV & Alaraby2 TV fiber and satellite. My duties also include Signal routing, fiber & satellite transmissions and file transfer, Signal monitoring, implementation of escalation procedures, first line maintenance, transcoding, format and standards conversion and many more. My job requires very high level of attention to detail.
My work involves shift work. Holiday and Sick cover is required often and I always try to help out where possible.
I have can do attitude and can adapt to new environment very quickly. I am also very quick learner and proactively learn new technologies and equipment operation to be able to do my job better.

In Almamlaka TV I earned very unique experience because I was in installation and configuration phase for all MCR and SNG Systems like (movable uplink stations Flyaway, SNG car, Downlink antenna, RF Matrix (ETL L-Band Matrix 32x32), IRDs Ericsson RX8200, TVU 4G Encoders & Decoders, Fiber Links between Channel head Quarter and Jordan Media City Main & Backup, audio monitor system TSL, video monitor system Leader LV 5770A, video routers Snell & VSM LAWO, talkback system RCP 1112, off air monitoring system, beauty shot cameras system, TX Fiber Cards, RX Fiber Cards, Fiber links between brunches and Channel head quarter, IPTV System from Haivision (Torpedo cards & Makito Cards), …etc.
My daily responsibility as MCR Engineer is:
Undertake monitoring Control of the channel off air and escalation process with DTH providers.
Effectively receive and record Feeds (Live 2way / Tape feeds) and Live Programs via Satellite, MPLS and 3G-4G cellular devises such as TVU
Controlling the quality of receiving Feeds as per our Quality standards
To closely monitor the receiving tape feeds and live programs
Minimize troubleshooting time to the minimum to avoid any failure or delay.
To be up to date and familiar with all our MCR Systems/Equipment.
To regularly use Data-miner in controlling and monitoring all MCR equipment and highlight if any alarm appears in critical devices.
Pointing the steerable antenna to the required satellites and reduce the action time.
To regularly add sources/maintain the monitoring system.
Coordinate effectively with operators in the field to support remote operations via satellite, 3G-4G cellular devices and IP networks.
Reports clearly in the booking system all technical or operational issues observed during transmissions.
Identify faults and take immediate preventative action to restore traffic.
Undertakes routine testing, preventative and corrective maintenance of transmission systems and ancillary equipment.
Ensure the monitoring and adjustment of incoming video/audio according to the Almamlaka TV Broadcasting Technical Standards
Report technical issues to Handovers and Ticketing System

And also as a part of my responsibility is SNG Engineer.
Responsible to operate and maintain SNG Vans and Flyaways.
SNG Engineer (Satellite News gathering): it’s to send the TV signal from anywhere to studio Via satellite, I can use 2 systems (SD, HD) with all encoding technologies like (MPEG2, MPEG4 and H.264) and Modulation techniques (DVB-S, DVB-S2, QPSK, 8PSK).
SNG it is set of mobile devices, its divided into 2 parts (vehicles and Flyaway) the equipment as following: (Encoder, Modulator, up converter, HPA, Antenna) My work is installing, operating, troubleshooting.
Also from my duties is SNG Engineer

1. SNG Engineer (vehicles, Flyaway): is to transmit a TV Signal from the scene to the station via a satellite. (Installing, repairing, and operating)
2. Install teleport system and troubleshoot the problem (signal path problems and mechanical problems)
3. Satellite Engineer: installation of satellite dish and earth station and connect them to the Matrix and receivers.
4. Repairing and operating for all systems that I use it.

And now I am working as operator and support Engineer for all previous systems.

As Production/SNG Engineer I have worked in indoor & outdoor events.
In this period, I have worked as a satellite coordinator and system supervisor & installer, operating the facilities of Broadcasting via satellite, DTL studios, Report packages & outside broadcasting to the biggest news and media agencies and TVs in the MENA region.

Therefore I have a good knowledge with TV standards, PAL/ NTSC - SD/HD - MPEG2/MPEG4 - DVBS/DVBS2 & Audio specification and connections. Satellite Fleet and position, determining the satellite up-link & down-link fleets mainly the MENA satellites ex. Eutelsat (3b, 7A, 10A, 16A, 21B, Bader4, 5, 6, 36B and Arab Sat), Nile sat. Client Support at the location or via phone.
My job was sending the Live from News location or events to the studio via satellite, it's called Satellite News Gathering (SNG).
