OHL - Arabia LLC is a member of the Spanish Consortium in the HHSR Project, head quartered in Jeddah and is responsible for providing ‘above the ground’ - Standard and High speed rails, turnouts and other related materials and accessories - for 270 km’s plus distance - on a turn key basis.
As Logistics Manager, I was responsible for the logistics related Planning, Sourcing, Contracting of Vendors, Suppliers and execution - on an on time and intact basis - in to and across all the elements in the logistics chain - from ex-works to delivery of site on ground and there after on track bed.
Shipment types handled ex-works to site: As diverse as Break Bulk Cargo - 60, 000 Tons of standard rails (25 meters), Approximately 2000 in and out of gauge containers, 80 plus ODC units ranging from 25 to 90 Tons each. Transport vehicles and MHE’s as appropriate were duly organized.

The Management functions:
 Control and meet with and conform to Quality and Safety standards per company policy
 Participate in the internal program planning and advise on logistics considerations.
 Initiate and deliver customized improvements in the Logistics function
 Manage the logistics related assets of OHL
 Manage with customs clearance of the Import Shipment with the customs brokers in sync with the transportation and handling activities
 Manage the processes related to imports - Duty free & under temporary imports
 Manage the costing of Import Duty exemptions
 Negotiate, Deal and Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders and other entities in the chain
 Ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
 Own the Logistics budget and its cost effective realization in an institutionalized control environment
 Supervise the day by day Jobs file opening and closing status,
 End to end management and control of the RFQ to Vendor/ Supplier payment process
 Manage the Liability regime
 Reporting & review per company policies & practices
 Provide effective leadership and directions to Staff, suppliers and Vendors
